I'm Christian, I was raised that way, but if I was born Muslim, I would most likely be a devout Muslim. I believe what I believe and I believe my way is right, but the Muslims believe their way is right. The Atheists think their right, and so on and so forth, and let me rephrase that, we all know we are right, i know for a fact that I'm right, you know for a fact that you're right. We can't both be right. So who's right? i guess i'm just gonna have to die before we figure it out, if i vanish and am no more, then i won't even be around to figure out the atheists were right, if I face eternal judgement, I know i was right all along, like i always knew i was. oh great, i'm getting myself confused now.....sometimes i lay awake at night and wonder, what if THEY are right, but then I assure myself that I'm right. just like i'm sure you always think you're right. so who's right? because only one of us can be the #1 right, and we all know that we are that #1. is this twisted or what?

I don't doubt that I'm not right. I know I am right. i just wonder how everybody else think they are right too, when they are not, and they think i'm wrong. you see what I'm getting at?

Ask yourself why you believe what you believe. Because your parents told you to? That is unsatisfactory. Question your beliefs and study. Read your bible and read (real) science texts, magazines, etc.
Question ALL of it and think about what your read.
You'll come to better conclusions... more informed anyway.

Good luck.

You are one confused lady. Yes I think i'm right, but just because I'm BORN Muslim doesn't make me have to follow the religion. When I got old enough to read and write, I did a little research myself, and saw miracles with my very own eyes that were supernatural, but were true cause tey were witnessed live, and I have NO doubt whatsoever that Islam is the wrong religion to follow.
I think everyone out there should study the religion they are following just to make sure that they are living life the way they're supposed to. I do believe in the after-life, and Judgement Day; it's too scary, so I like to take care of what i do; whereas atheists believe they live on this Earth just to live and die, and then just turn into dust and bones. I don't believe that, because like i said, not only do I think that there is a afterlife, but I KNOW, because there are too many proofs from people, and stories that took place recently that are suffient enough for any sane human to believe. Don't think that Islam was the only religion I sought to study; I did study Christianity, and Jewdiasm, and Buddism, and I found Islam the straight-forward truth, no beating around the bush, and all my questions were answered. And it is pretty obvious, since Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, and the second largest religion after Christianity; people are finally finding the truth; Christianity was the true religion before God sent the last Messenger (Muhammed). And so was Judiasm before Christianity (but the christians at the time believed that God was the Lord of the Universe , not Jesus Christ). The prophet did say that there will be christians and Jews in paradise, but only those who came before Islam.
Islam was sent for all of mankind; therefore those who do not believe will find there fate when they die, or they can find the truth before it's too late.

You seem pretty concerned about who's right and who's worng,,,(You sound like my grandmother, who was a religious Christian, and died Muslim). She found the truth, even after living 80-something years in the dark.
Miracles happen, and I don't doubt my religion either. Good luck on finding the truth (STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!)

=)

When it comes to religions, they can't all be right - but they *can* all be wrong. And since religious beliefs cannot be tested scientifically they must always remain beliefs and not facts.

They can't be proven wrong, either, and neither scientists nor atheists waste their time trying to do that.

What we can do, however, is consider the probability that any religion could be true: what is the likelihood that an undetectable and unnecessary (for any pursuit we can think of) being exists which has created and controls the entire, gigantic, magnificent universe, without itself needing to be created by something even greater?

The answer is very, very small.

Think of it another way: scientific and practical questions are solved by thinking and experimentation, while religious differences are far too often only fought over and never solved - because they are unsolvable by rational means!

There is nothing worse and more dangerous in the world than someone who *knows* he is right and will kill you to prove it. Religions preach humility but practice the exact opposite of supreme arrogance and certainty - so naturally they end up fighting over their conflicting "certainties."

Scientists, on the other hand, have learned to be humble from centuries of making mistakes but *learning* from their mistakes. This is how true progress is made.

We don't. I believe in God and I have looked at different religions and atheism and none of it makes enough sense to me to believe it. I believe I am right in what I believe, but you are never 100% right..... It is very arrogant to say you are the one who is right, the one with all the answers... that isn't true no matter how much you believe it. We are all only human... we don't even know the half of it. I guess we will all just have to die and find out the truth... if we meet our maker, we will know we were right all along... if nothing happens... well I guess no one will ever know it!! lol...

Ultimately, we will only know the truth when we die. In the mean time, we have to do the best we can.

My question to you is - why do you think you are right, other than the fact that your environment says that you are? Have you looked at any opposing views? Have you studied the actual history of your position and your scriptures? If you haven't studied the other positions, you can't even claim to be making an informed decision, let alone that you are right.

Well a good start is a relationship with God one where you talk and hang out together. Many people who lose faith in Christ never know Christ. Many people know about Christ but they don't know him like they know there Mom or Dad or Husband or Wife or friend. If you don't know Christ then it is easy to see why you would be confused. You can't follow someone that you don't know. My religion so to speak is a relationship with God. I know its the right one because I do have a relationship with my God. We talk and hang out and sometimes he shows me some awesome romantic spots.
I belive/ know Christ is the only way to heaven through the testamony of the Holy Spirit which wasn't revealed to me untill I strongly desired Him. It's almost an assurance so strong that it is as if I have seen Christ with my own eyes but some people don't have the assurance in which case they have to rely on faith and trust those who have blessed assurance. I also know there is only one true church and that is those who follow Christ. Now what does it mean to follow Christ is between you and God. See I believe not that we are all right but that we are all wrong thanks to our sinful nature and our ability to complicate simple things. Even the one religion that is right keeps doing things wrong which only adds to the confusion. Everyone has a picture of what a Christian is and isn't and that is why it is realy hard to be the "perfect" example of Christ.

I was a Catholic and I had questions about the religion so I studied it and asked questions. My studies and questions led me to become an atheist. I then studied other religions, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and found them to be false also. After many years, and seeing many idiotic things people of religion do, I truly wonder how any clear thinking free person can possibly believe any of that religious junk. Am I right? What is happening is that religious people are destroying the environment, starting wars, committing acts of terror, while us non power hungry atheists are trying to save the world. Am I right?

There are perhaps 2,000 religions and one atheism. I have got to think the atheists are backing better odds than any one of the 2,000. And, yes you Christians out there, read her wandering text a little deeper, what she is saying is that how can you with certainty say you are right when you know they are as certain about their religion and someone has to be wrong. Most likely case - you're all wrong, except perhaps the atheists.

i look at this point and argue it all the time. I am a Muslim and i am proud of it. i was raised a muslim too. being raised in a religion does not give you the right to say u follow the right religion unless you research. i chose to be a muslim, why? b/c i looked into other religions (monotheistic).
let me start with Jews.
i could never become a Jew even if i wanted to. my mother isn't of judiastic faith so i can never follow judiasm. so how can the right religion not allow other ppl to follow thier religion

christians, now u can relate to this:
what have you been told as u grew up about religion. Follow the way of Jesus christ. you must belive and have faith in him to be a good christian. follow what? christians claim he is the father, son, and holy spirit. In other words he is God. i believe in order to follow a faith you must understand what you beleive and why. when christians are asked why on yahoo! how do they answer? they say u just have to believe in him and have faith.

the other thing i do not understand is how God can be three, or three as one person? it is not logical and mathmatically right. and alos why would God a supreme being kill himself to save humanity from Adams sin. if he is god then he was there before adam. if he really wanted to save us he would have never let it happen to begin with.

Islam, what is so good about Islam that i chose it.for one the quran was written by god himself, so everything is directly from him. in the bible and torah it is claimed that it was written by man who got exactly what was written from God. I mean it is like playing telephone. by the end you do not have the original.
If you look at islam (do not ount culture, i.e suadi arabia and disrespect to women, or the ppl who kill in the name of Islam) it is a peaceful religon and respects ppl from all faiths and culture. some ppl will quote something from the quran that says "fight" when in fact u cannot take the translation literally. islam respects all races, genders, and faiths. Women are technically higher in the view of God than men. if i go into detail i will be here for an hour. if u have further questions email me

peace be upon you

1. It is almost always impossible to know if one is "right".

2. If you are a moral person, and a person of a different belief is also a moral person, then does it really matter whose god is right?

3. If your god is so merciful and benevolent, then would that god allow a decent human being (or even a poor one for that matter) suffer eternally? Or would that god give them a chance to learn the lesson until they got it right?

That is both the blessing AND the curse about beliefs - there IS no "right" answer...

You can base your belief system on facts, ideas, or even legends and myths - but it only becomes a belief if YOU choose to beleive in it.

As long as you FEEL that you are living a "good" and "moral" life - then there is nothing wrong with your belief system...

However, if you feel empty inside - or that something is missing - THEN is the time to reach out to discover another faith ;););)
