I went to the supermarket looking for Kosher salt, but the only had huge boxes of it. Can I use regular salt if I don't have Kosher salt?

Kosher salt usually has no additives, and it has big crystals with large surface areas. It does not contain iodine like regular table salt.

Larger grain size, no additives. The salt is named for its use in koshering or kashering of meat (salting to remove blood to make the meat kosher).
