my depression? I haven't had this problem until the last few weeks, when my depression has gotten worse, and I have been more withdrawn as well. Thanks for your answers

Yes, depression can affect every aspect of your life. My depression always affects my ability to concentrate or really wanting to do anything. I hope you are getting help for your depression. I also wish you the best of luck. :)

Some mental illnesses can be attributed to poor diet as well. According to one study I had read: Low (healthy) cholesterol can affect your mood. Magnesium deficiency can affect your ability to make decisions and reduced brain fat from over dieting. Dehydration etc. I had trouble sleeping which only made things worse. I had eventually tried Trazadone which was originally prescribed for depression but is supposedly now more commonly used for sleeping disorders. At least you're not depressed and withdrawn enough not to bother to ask here on YA. Try also seeing a dietitian and get some blood work done.

Yes you lose of concentration is most likely due your depression. If it is getting worse you need to see a docter about it. Depression is a serious problem and you don't want it to get out of hand. That way you can also do better in school.

if your depression is getting worse then that could be the reason you cannot concentrate. Especially since you haven't had this problem before and you know that you are depressed

Yes, depression often robs us of concentration. Make sure you are taking care of yourself to limit the depression; eat healthy (no sugar, junk food or alcohol), get exercise daily (walking is great) and remember to think positive thoughts when the dark ones enter. Take care.
