I don't think I do that, Zalem. Do I? I don't care if someone has a fifth grade education, intelligence and wisdom does not necessarily come from books. Most of my friends are from Kurdistan( Go PKA!) and Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. Maybe you know that in some of those areas, levels of education are not near as important as knowing how to treat other people, or to survive. I would never denigrate a peshmerga, whether that peshmerga EVER attended any school at all. After all, I am illiterate in arabic writing, because it is right to left, and I can't do it. So, it goes back to the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do to you. Respect. Stand. Fight.

It is always foolish to underestimate and degrade anyone! The wisest people I have known have had little formal education. I knew an old man that never got past grade school. He went to work to support a large family. He was literally the smartest person I ever met.

Everyone has the right to become educated. It is an excuse to say otherwise. Lack of intelligence is the unwillingness to learn.

If you are using the Internet to ask the questions, then you can certainly go to other websites - teaching websites, some of which are totally free - and learn whatever you wish. In this day and age with computers and the Internet you can learn and be as educated as you wish.

No. Education is a personal goal and it isn't anyone's business to judge anyone on that.

I've found there are genuine and kind people from all walks of life, even if they never made it to high school or finished college. To my bright-eyed and happy surprise, I've met people whose intelligence level inversely correlated with their education level. Some people missed out on education due to circumstance, now how can one devalue them for their personal decision or circustance? I believe genuine and kind people shine on their own without education to boot. People are judged usually on provocation--ir they are rude, ignorant , or have other flagrantly unruly personality/character traits. People who make an honest effort to try their best are never taken for granted because they are highly valuable people.

I don't think you have to go to school to underestimate people. I try not to degrade but I have been told that I have. It made me feel bad. Oh well I'm over it now.

Generally speaking, no, but dealing with the poorly educated can be very frustrating, especially when they've been indoctrinated with a lot of incorrect information.

That's the amusing part about believers: any disagreement with them constitutes "degradation!"
