I much prefer the styling of the 67-68 over the other old ones. If I had to pick one to own, I'd pick a new one. Park a new one next to any old Mustang and honestly, the old ones look like a tin can. Plus the new one will run circles around any old one. Try it.
That's a great testament to Ford, really. They did at least one thing right. A lot of people really love Mustangs, and they made one better than all the other ones they've ever made.

1964 1/2 thru 1966... to me the original really was one of the best looking cars ever made, and for mustangs, even though I love them, the original is it. We had a 65 when I was a kid (I was born in 64, and grew up in that car) 289 hi-po with a stick. We later got a new 69 Firebird 400 with a 4 speed, and though it was fast and looked good, i always loved that mustang. Every SVT Cobra I have bought since then has been blue because of that car.

For the Sixties, I desire some thing pre-mustang. The 1963 Fairlane game Coupe to be specific. it ought to be offered with each and all of the niceties of the Mustangs, 289 Hipo, 4 on the floor and bucket seats and had the income of the fifty seven Ford look (cantered fins and afterburner tail lighting fixtures), yet with twin headlights. One classic layout, i do no longer think of Ford ever made a prettier simpler automobile that this one.

1969. I just like the lines of the 69. Has to be a sportsroof or Mach 1. The coupes were kind of ugly. A 69 Mach 1, Boss 302 or Boss 429 will probably always be my favorite look.

I think the 67/68's are the best, followed by the 69's. A new Mustang makes the old ones look like tin cans????.... I don't think so ....

The 65 thru 68's. After 68 they started getting bigger and bigger until they were overgrown and over weight. My grandson and I just finished restoring my son's old 65 for my grandson to drive. I have a really nice 68 that I have owned for 22 years.
