Do guys really choose personality over looks?

From what I see it really doesn't seem that way, but a lot of guys say that personality is more important.

Is it true?

Yes they do... but eventually some guys learn that looks aren't everything. If you're lucky you will find a nice guy that's smart enough to know personality is what will keep a relationship going... eventually pretty girls can get ugly... personality is there forever.

Most of the time when a guy first meets a girl he goes off looks alone. If he meets a hot girl but her personality is so horrible that he just can't stand her, well then there's not much of a future. Sometimes once a guy has been friends with a girl for a while she'll start to grow on him, even if he didn't initially find her all that attractive.
I guess, that really goes for both guys & girls though. What can I say, I guess people are just shallow.

looks aren't everything. i believe a guy who is possibly a 5 on a scale of 1-10 could become a 8 with personality. i truely believe a guy isn't going to settle for a blonde with no brains. guys like a challenge, they need someone with personality. there are many beautiful women with personality, and maybe your just choosing to see those. i don't think its one or the other, but no one is perfect, and not everyone makes the right decision.

The fact is that men are visual creatures, while women are generally emotional. Therefore chances are that looks are going to be the attractant, but a beautiful women with no personality can't hold on to a good man for long. Soooo, looks can catch em but can't keep em.

Can't be so sure. People usually have love at first sight with looks, right? Some people just gradually fall in love, instead of having love at first sight because of looks.

For guys...looks aren't THAT important (I think). Just have clean hair and body, good sense of style...?

Personality is key, because who'd want to be near a selfish greedy bragger, even if she is pretty? When a guy remembers a girl, he'll see her face, but he'll mostly remember what she says to him.

Guys will notice good looking girls first, standard. As stated by most people. But the truth is these feelings will prob fade, if i guy really likes a girls personality, she will really get to him. Also once a guy likes a girls personality, she will start to seem better looking!

Usually they'll go for looks and if there's something about you that catches their eye then its personality but in the end personality is the BEST! Absolutely NO guy wants a model with a real bi*tchy attitude

Brutal honesty............ a lot of people say both answers depending who they are talking to or trying to impress.... The bottom line is make -up never can, never has and never will beat character personality and natural looks........Make-up was first derived from warriors who used to apply it as war paint to make them look evil and scary to their enemies...it is also used to camouflage faces in jungle terrain to blend in with the surroundings......Take the make-up off these top models and do away with airbrush techniques and people will say yuk she looks awful.. in reality she ain't awful at all... she is natural..... make up will never make a person bubbly fun and great company. the persons own character does that on it's own.... that's a fact...

I couldn't agree with you more, most guys say that personality is more important, however, they often choose looks as the NO 1. At least many guys I met at agelessmatch.com choose looks over personality.
