Your belief in "the One true God" is biblically right, Andi. And you should stick to it no matter what.
This belief would automatically lead you to believing that Jesus is not "another" God. Remember, you can never mix-up two contradicting beliefs. What I mean is, you can never believe in "the One true God" and believing in the deity of Jesus at the same time. Confusing isn't it?
The Bible will never leave you into confusion, Andi. The God of the Bible is not a God of confusion. It is the "god of men" who leads you to. Now listen....
In John chapter 1..."In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God..."
This "same Word" created everything. It is actually the Word of the father - - "Let there be light..."! And there was light! And this "same Word" was manifested into flesh and dwelt among man to bring salvation. This "same Word" was in the flesh called - Jesus. "Christ" was his Title that means "SENT" or "ANNOINTED". So, we call him "Jesus Christ", or, "Jesus the Annointed" This "same Word" (who was in the flesh) was also the one praying to God who SENT him. When he was crucified, only the flesh died, but never the Word. This "same Word" ascended to heaven and return to the One who sent him. (Follow?)
The Bible was right when it says - "And no one comes up to heaven except him who came down from heaven..."! It is this "same Word". And in the last day, this "same Word' is going to judge all man.
John 1 says - - "...And the Word WAS God..."! Past tense "WAS God" signified authority. "And through him, all; things were made..." And indeed, ALL THINGS CAME INTO BEING because of the WORD!
With this, you ended up believing the right thing, Andi. There is indeed only "One true God" - - the Father in heaven. If you believe in another "God", you will already be guilty of IDOLATRY.
BONUS: The deity of Christ was fabricated by the founder of the Catholic belief - Constantine, in the Council of Nicea, in favor of the growing clamor from converting pagans. So as to unite his empire, he favored on the diety of Christ and sacrificed a few who opposed to it. (Simple?)
Praying to those "saints" is a vain action of faith, Andi. They have no capacity to help the living. They are dead beings! but if you are brought up to this belief, and you cannot turn from it, then, I suggest you pray to Moses, or to Abraham...or to Jacob...or to Jeremiah...? Maybe, just maybe, your prayer will be heard????
(If you want to tackle farther about this...you can always e-mail me)
God bless you, Andi...

The Bible tells us to pray to God, the Father in the name of the Son, Jesus Christ. The intervention of God in our lives, spiritually, is the Holy Ghost. All three entities are part of the Godhead, or the Trinity. The true nature of God, as in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is somewhat of a spiritual mystery we cannot fully understand until the end times.

many dont really ever thing about this- but the Holy Trinity always existed. God the Father did create the heavens and the earth alongside of Jesus the Son (who gave up is place in Glory to come to earth as a baby and later be mocked beaten unrecognizable and crucified for our sin) and God the Holy Spirit. One Triune God- that after Jesus' crucifixtion, Jesus said He would send a Comforter (The Holy Spirit). In reference to the Lord's prayer, Jesus is giving us a model prayer- to adore God for who He is: to ask for forigiveness: to give supplication: to give thanksgiving for who He is and how He works and leads us in our daily lives. As to praying to the saints- I would refer you to the book of Exodus 20:3 &4 which says you are to have no other (little "g") gods before me....

Doctrine (the trinity, nicene creed, etc.) is a long, drawn out process that continuously develops over thousands of years--in many cases away from the early intentions of their respective religions. The trinity doctrine was invented by an Alexandrian Bishop named Tertullian in about 170 C.E. He was later excommunicated by the church. Sixty-five years later another Alexandrian Bishop named Origen wrote "On First Principles" refuting Tertullian's trinity doctrine as a blasphemous attempt to import the Egyptian trinity into Christianity. Origen was excommunicated from the church because in that 65 year time people warmed up to the trinity doctrine (catchy slogans work in all forms of advertising). If you have difficulties with the trinity doctrine, don't consider yourself alone--many people do. If it helps anything, there's no way that the twelve apostles would have gone for anything close to it--it breaks the noahide laws and the first commandment.

I struggle with that question (there is so many things that could suggest Jesus was a prphet instead (which is not true)) but now after reading yours, I think that Jesus prayed to God because he was a living example for all of us human-lings. Plus, even though Jesus' spirit was God, Jesus was a physical person and so had to pray. I don't know for sure for sure, but I'm just giving thought.

Dear Andi,
Sometimes, when you are indoubt in your Religion or seeking answers which questioning your faith or belief, the answers may be lies somewhere else (Other Religion). That's why alot of Christian's are doing now when they have questions which Christianity can't even answer.
Just pray to GOD and ask for guidance.
Let me remind you.
Surah/Chapter 004 - An-Nisâ. Verse 171.
English Translation (The Noble Qur'an)
O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three ( TRINITY)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is AllSufficient as a Disposer of affairs.
Wallahwaalam

Adam and Eve.
Eve came out of Adam. Adam was one, now two as one.
The It, the ultimate 1 was lonely. He took the best part of himself and set it outside himself. This is the Word, Jesus entity. Now there are two as one communing together.
The Ultimate One sowed seeds into the Word and the Word gestated it and gave birth to our part of creation.
Yah's kingdom has many parts. You and I can become one of them, yet, His kingdom is always united no matter how many separate parts.
Hear O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim, Yahweh is united, ONE.
In other words, there are separate parts that all work unitedly within His realm of the Kingdom. Jesus has come to be a filter so that we can go to where Jesus is, before the Father in the Holiest Holy of Holies. Jesus is our defence attorney before the righteous court of the father.
Jesus is the best part of the father that let go of his divinity to come here to teach us how to enter into a free flowing covenantal blessing with the Father. Because he came here and then went back, He has been exalted higher than He was before! He came to see what was up with us. Why we could not see His Way and why we chose to be miserable instead of trust in Him.
We never pray to the parts, we pray to the Father and He will use His parts to bring answers.
Seek Yah and not religion. Religion has done nothing but divide and mess things up awful. He is real and will reveal Himself to you if you really desire HIm.
All God is saying is 'Do you love me for who I am?'. He will not force us and He also will not change for us. He not only likes himself, He loves Himself. Do we?
Why do we do what we do? Why really do we do what we do and how much information do we have to honestly, righteously judge it?
Yah is not only good, He is awesomely, creatively cool! Just remember, ' My sheep hear my voice and the follow no other'.
Shalom if you so desire it! If not, I will receive it back.

We must worship God, the Father, not Jesus - as Jesus himself stated to the Devil.
The scriptures he quoted to the Devil were from the OT. Since the NT in most translations contain the word 'Lord' this confuses many. By checking the original OT quotes in e.g. the ASV Bible, you can verify who is being referred to.
Jesus is the way to God, not God the Almighty. So we should not pray to Jesus or the Saints in the same manner we do to God. It is however not wrong to say a prayer to Jesus and thanking him for what he did for us, but remember John 3:16. Here it clearly shows that it was God that provided us with his son. Of course, the son had to agree to make this sacrifice in our behalf.
On my homepage at my profile, the trinity is debunked on many pages.
At the very bottom of the main page there is a subject devoted to what may be termed the 'trinity scriptures.' At the top, the Athanasian creed, John 1:1 etc are discussed.
^^^^^^^^^^^
Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; (ASV)
Acts 5:30-31 The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus, whom you put to death, hanging him upon a tree. 31Him hath God exalted with his right hand, to be Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
Acts 7:55 saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.
Acts 10:42 *he* it is who was determinately appointed of God to be judge of living and dead. (Darby)
Revelation 1:1Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him

while Jesus was on earth He lived here as a man subject to all the troubles we have. Prayer is conversation so Jesus conversed with His Father all the time while on earth. He came to earth out of love for humanity for the express purpose of saving all men who would respond in faith to Him. Because God is far beyond our understanding it is not possible for us to be able to analyse His ways. So He has given us a revelation of Himself in the bible but most especially in Jesus who shows us what God is like.
As prayer is conversation it is not right to speak with dead people. Remember it is fine to pray to Jesus as He is not dead but alive and He hears and answers the prayers of those who genuinely cry out to Him.

Jesus is the son of God almighty and he command to worship his father in John 4:23-24.
but if I ask you how many gods are in heaven probably you will answer "one" . but is that what the bible says?
in Psalms 82:1 we read "God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods."
who are this gods? the same bible answer you in verse 6
"I myself have said, ‘YOU are gods,
And all of YOU are sons of the Most High."
so the sons of the most high are gods... who are this sons?
the same bible give you the answer in Job 1:6 and 2:1 and 38:4-7.
"Now it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them. "
this sons if you keep reading are the angels so angels are sons of God almighty and gods but not almighty only one is almghty the father.
Jesus is the firstson of God according to Colossians 1:15-17, but not in earth cause the firstson of God in earth was Adam (Luke 3:38), he is the first of all the sons that God almighty has in heaven.
So your concern is valid and we this reasoning it is logical what I am telling you compare all the verse that I showed you and keep investiguating.
