I have in front of me a very realy copy of the "ACT of CONSECRATION"
My question is this:
Why do you worship Mary
Why do you pray to mary?
Why does your church sell cards to go to mass?-yep, got it!
Is not everyone welcome? or is it a members only club?
Why do you think mary is the daughter of the father, the mother of the son and the spouse of the holy spirit?
Is the trinity 3seperate or 3in1?
if the trinity is 3, wouldnt that go against God's commands to have the wofe be the daughter of the father's son, if they are all separate, that would mean that the wife of one would have had a son with her father......does that sound right?!?
These are very real questions that popped up in my head when i read this.
I am not blaspheming. merely asking on the logic behind this.
thank you
Blessings in the LORD, Jesus Christ, who alone can save!

Psalm 29:2

God Bless you Sister.

I believe that Catholics who have Christ and Protestants who have Christ are brothers and sisters in the family of God.

There are different traditions of course...and the reasons for the separation from the Roman Catholic church are certainly valid, but we all have only one true hope...Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.

I do have issues with Catholicism, one I just read from a poster, is that Mary is sinless? Mary was not sinless on earth. She is sinless now in heaven. She was not sinless because there was only One sinless human being, who was God in the flesh and that was Jesus Christ. It is why no one can live their life according to the Mosaic Law. We are sinners. Was Mary blessed by God and honored above all women? of course!

The other issues I have are with indulgences and purgatory. Nowhere are they mentioned in the original greek and hebrew, nor was the entirety of the apocrypha. Buying people a lesser sentence in purgatory? Buying a license to sin? No.

The fact that communion isn't allowed for non-Christians is understandable...since one must know and understand why we take communion...if communion is taken without the proper heart...it is not necessarily beneficial and could be harmful. Preventing Christians from sharing in communion because they were not Catholic is an issue. Faith in Christ is the only reason to take communion, and there should be no prohibition against a Christian taking communion.

Asking Mary to pray for us...it's not exactly necessary and takes our focus off of Christ...Jesus Christ Himself intercedes on our behalf. We can pray to the Lord..why pray to a second party? I suppose it is no different than asking our other Christian brothers and sisters to pray for us...and all prayer for us is a good thing...so long as our focus does not go to Mary instead of Christ.

Mary is the earthly mother of Christ, and Joseph is His earthly dad. There was no supernatural power given to her as recorded in scripture. She was human and flawed as we all are. She is not married to God in any way different than we are as the bride of Christ. We "the church" are the bride and Christ is the Bridegroom.

I also have a problem according to scripture that Catholic's believe that during the mass, Christ is crucifed again for our sins. I could simply be misunderstanding what Catholics truly believe regarding this, but Christ died once for all. There is no re-crucification for the sins we commit now. All sins were paid for on the cross, past, present and future. Christ didn't say, it's almost finished...He said, "It is finished, and gave up His Spirit."

Romans 6:9-10
9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

The idea of transubstantiation I believe is possible for God of course, but do I believe that during the communion, when the priest prays over the wine that it truly does turn into Christ's blood...and the cake into His flesh...no. We are cleansed by faith in Christ, sanctified by the Holy Spirit within us. We are baptized by it. Christ's blood was shed "once" for all when He died for us. We were told by Christ at the Last Supper, to do this in remembrance of Him...the wine and the bread....to "remember" what He did for us. This does not include conjuring up His blood or flesh.

Hebrews 9:12
12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

When we are forgiven we are forgiven...and no one can take this away from us.

John 10:27-30
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one."

Catholic belief that works has anything to do with being saved is the biggest issue I have, and this issue is well known within Catholic dogma.

We can do "nothing" to "earn or deserve" salvation. God gave us salvation as a Gift by our faith in Jesus Christ. No one has the right to boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Our faith will produce works (fruit), but we are not to ever rely on our works as justification for our salvation.

Faith without works is dead, but works without faith is equally worthless. We demonstrate our faith by our works...by our fruit, and only by the power of God can we bear fruit. It is all a gift from God to us by faith in Christ.

Take Care and God Bless you!

1. We don't worship Mary. She has a special respect in that she was the mother of Jesus who was essentially God.
2. Praying is not worshiping. Praying is asking for help. She has major points with God and asking her to butter God up for us is nice.
3. I've never heard that you have to buy a card to go to mass. It's wrong. God is free.
4. Evereyone's welcome but only those who know the importantce of the Holy Eucharist are allowed to take part in it.
5.Mary is no more the daughter of the father than I am. (Being that we're all his children) She is the Mother of God's son. (Jesus) and Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit (all of which can be found in the Bible)
6. The trinity is three in one the same as a clover. (St. Patrick was the first to use the clover as an example of the trinity)
7. The Trinity is not three so this question is irrelevant.

Yes, I am a practicing Catholic. I do feel bad when, at Christmas and Easter, all those "twice a year" Catholics come out - but then I realize that it could be worse. It could very well be possible they don't come out at all. It's easy for someone, who attends Church every week, to go to Mass on Christmas, Easter, and Holy Days of Obligation. I often wonder just how much more difficult it is for people, who don't attend Mass regularly, to get out and go to Mass a few time per year. We can't imagine it, because we know what we'd be missing. I don't think these "twice a year" types can fully appreciate what it is they're missing. If they did, they'd be at Mass more than twice a year. I am proud to be Catholic, so it's all the more disappointing when I see people taking an "oh hum: attitude towards their vocation as lay Catholics. All we can really do about it is pray, and hope that they example we set will, someday, motivate them to start living the Catholic lifestyle all year round.

ok, we don't really WORSHIP Mary, we just pray to her and ask for her guidance as the mother of Jesus, the savior.

as i said, we pray to her for her help and guidance as the sinless woman..

It is welcome to everyone, but not the Eucharist. In order to recieve the body and blood of Christ, you must be a confirmed Catholic.

um, Mary is the daughter of God because she birthed his son. it is confusing, but you'll get it. She gave birth to Jesus, duh, and well, sorry about the spouse to the holy spirit thing, i've never heard of that....sorry again...

The Trinity is three in one

that should answer you other question in itself.

1. We do not worship Mary.
2. We don't pray to her. We ask her to pray for us.
3. I don't know what Church you're going to. You don't need to buy anything to get in. Everyone is welcome.
4. Like I said before. Anyone can come, no matter what your race, religion, or creed.
5. Mary is the mother of God made man.
6. The Blessed Trinity is three people in one God- The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
7. This doesn't make sense.... sorry. I don't recall anything of the sort.

We don't worship Mary.
When we pray to Mary, we are asking her to intercede for us with God.
I go to Mass every week, and I've never been sold a card.
Everyone is welcome-come on in! "Catholic" means "universal".
Mary was created by God-therefore she is his daughter.
Mary bore the human Jesus when he came to Earth.
Mary is not the spouse of the Holy Spirit-she is the spouse of Joseph. Jesus was conceived when she was still a virgin.
The trinity is both three individuals and three in one.
No(to the last question).

Hope this clears some things up for you.

Catholic honor the woman who gave birth to our Messiah.
Catholics do not worship Mary.
We pray with Mary to her Son Jesus Christ because we believe that He conquered death once and for all. Mary, the Saints (extraordinary witnesses to Jesus Christ) martyrs, and Christian still on earth are ALL members of the Body of Christ.
Never bought a card in my life for the Sacraments, or Holy Mass. I have and do consistently tithe a part of my gifts for the Community in which I worship Jesus Christ.
Only those who recognize the Body Blood Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ may receive Him without sin. All are welcomed, but to receive Jesus intimately you must prepare yourself without sin.
Because the Father created Mary to bear the Son of the Father through the intervention of the Holy Spirit.
Trinity are 3 persons in one Being. Think of a shamrock with 3 leaves on the same plant.
You forget that God is not bound by the laws set for His creatures. God can be located everywhere and in everyone. Time is a human creation to explain our environment. God exists beyond our contemplation.

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Phil 2:12

Okay first of all Catholics do not worship Mary. Catholics honor Mary. Second of all Catholics do not and I repeat do not pray to Mary or the saints. Catholics ask Mary and the saints to pray for us and with us which is what the intercession is about and by the way not all Catholics even do that as I don't do that at all. Another thing Catholics do not sell any cards to attend Mass so that is absurd. All are welcome attend Mass. Wow umm Mary is the daughter of God as we are all God's children. Mary is the mother of the son of God. Who do you think Jesus Christ is? You know what my head is spinning from reading all of this. I'm sorry I don't think that I can continue anymore.

Selling cards to go to Mass? You've never visited a Catholic church before, have you? Free admission, and all are welcome. Go to a Mass and see for yourself, instead of getting information from second-hand sources. I'm a Catholic, and when I want to know about other denominations and religions, I visit their services.

Catholics venerate Mary and the saints. Veneration and worship are two different things.

I don't even understand where you're going with those particular anti-Trinitarian arguments, but the Catholics view the Trinity as three in one. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

Sheesh. Ever hear of asking just one (or maybe two) questions at once instead of rolling out a laundry list? They may be very real questions, but to expect a detailed answer to each within the limitations of this forum is not very realistic.

So I will take only one, and let others address what they wish.

Mass cards.
They are not invitations to attend Mass, but rather the Catholic version of a Hallmark card -- except that, instead of enclosing a Wal-Mart gift card or some such, the card lets the recipient know that the sender has asked for a Mass to be said for them (or their loved one), or that they are remembered by name at a special Mass. These can commemorate birthdays, anniversaries, other significant dates, and especially condolences upon the death of a loved one. Better than flowers ... because we really do care enough to send the very best.
