have souls. Apparently, they read it, and never had the good sense to question what they read! Like they read the Bible, and never have the good sense to question what they read in it!

Well, the idea of souls comes from ancient ancestor worship, when you didn't stop participating in the family just because you died. Also, many people see spirits and remember past lives, so that reinforces the idea of a soul. The idea that animals don't have souls is a pronouncement of the Catholic church, and as with so many other of their pronouncements, it is patently incorrect.

The first goal of most religions is to survive past death, so something had to be made up for the continuance of the conscientiousness, since it's obvious that the body doesn't last. Second, animals do not have souls because they have yet to write a religious book. They just need to get published. I think that if humans have souls, then animals do too.

The only thing I can find on that is:1 Peter 3:20 (Whole Chapter)
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
He said 8 souls if animals had souls it would be more than 8 souls saved.

Well actually I'm only half as crazy as you think. I believe all animals have souls.

And it's not just Christians, by the way. They don't have a copyright on souls. I definitely did not attain my general belief in souls from the Bible. I'm not Christian, and never was.

I think their motivation is to 'win' in life by taking the easy route with simple answers. They never have to feel guilty because no matter what they do their imaginary deity says it's ok and says do it again you are forgiven. Thus no responsibility for their actions. No real growth or maturity. Violence and immorality in one form or another often results.

They don't have to figure anything out. It's all explained for them in a book.

But why they keep their heads stuck in a single book which is obviously not down to eath, or even reasonably based on reality, when there are hundreds of thousands of millions of books to learn from which many are much socially and philosophically sounder, bets me.

I find them bad for me in life. That is, the really over the top religious people, and simply have excluded this type of person from my life. They are harmful in my opinion.

I believe it was St Francis of Acisi (Don't know spelling) that said animals don't have feelings.

Finally the head of the Catholic Church in Australia (our supposed spiritual leader). The Arch Bishop in Sydney does NOT believe in GOD. Now that is honest leadership. Incidentally this was stated by Australian politicians on TV so must be true (sarcasm).

Personally I've noticed religious people see G. Bush as having furthered their righous cause. But I think it will be their downfall in the years ahead, as religion is now EXPOSED for what its worth.

My two cents worth anyway.

In Hinduism all living entities including animals have souls.
The reason that it is not so in xianity is that the old scammers wanted to eat meat so they made animals into soulless, lesser beings.

Logically, if humans have souls, then so do animals.
According to the theory of reincarnation all living beings are recycled again and again.
Being saved by believing in Jesus is only a recent invention.
Xians don’t like to contemplate a ‘heaven’ existing before Jesus came cos it blows their tidy little theory into small, illogical pieces.

I believe that animals go to heaven. They have understanding, but it is only man that needs to be saved. It was because of man that sin entered the world, therefore, affecting the animals. I know that God loved my dog. he healed her when the vet said that she was dying. You should have seen his eyes pop out of his head when I brought her back in a couple weeks later. All my animals that have died are waiting for me in heaven, that is just how wonderful God's love is toward me.

I happen to believe that animals do in fact have souls. Or, at least, they have consciousness and a certain level of cognition. It is human arrogance to presume that they don't.

It additionally allowed human beings to kill animals (without guilt) and roast them for dinner?

As always, question every assumption you have. Also, question everything you read, including the Bible. This can help cement your faith.
