so many of you guys claim that its just a scam or a way to make people live in fear but technically so does religion. supposedly if we tell people long enough that global warming is real then they'll believe it right?(well actually it wont be believing, it would be a realization) and chances are that's what happened with religion.
they told people long enough to believe in god and whatnot and they believed it.

so why are you willing to worship god when there is absolutely no proof and yet you deny global warming when there is lots of proof of it?

I agree =] (btw, I'm agnostic too!) But the thing is that Global Warming is there...it's happening..and it's gonna kill us all (and has killed many already! including animals) Religion is gonna kill us, but HAS been for...forever, basically, and it really serves no purpose. We ALL just need to be agnostic and keep our beliefs to ourselves! Religion isn't going to reach a point of such intensity, it will be almost impossible to stop though...So, simply, the differences are:
*Global warming is REAL.
*Global warming hasn't been killing people for thousands of years.
*We need to stop global warming quickly before there's no hope!
We have thousands more years to solve religious issues...but only 10 to solve global warming. Enough said. GET TO WORK! Clocks ticking!

Your logic about 'religion' is totally incorrect,so far as the Christian faith is concerned. I do NOT live in fear of GOD. HE loves me, and sent his only Earth-born son (Jesus), who willingly died to save me from my sins. MY feeling is that 'global warming ' is for people like you, who can't understand anything that is made by a supreme being (GOD). ALSO-- GOD is the most REAL thing I can think of. He created this 'global warming', and the eventual devestation it will cause because people like you have totally rejected him, and slander him with every opportunity.
Finally, man didn't create GOD, GOD created man-- and he was, is, and will ALWAYS be. i.e., he was around LONG before the heavens and Earth, and especially man were created (you notice I said CREATED), he IS here with us NOW, and will be for eternity (and that, by the way, is for ALL time). It's too bad that your parents didn't tell you 'for a long time' that there IS an all-powerful, LOVING and faithful GOD-- because without HIM, you don't "Stand a chance in Hell"---

I find it a little unsettling when the realms of religion and science begin to converge. Much as I'm sure Darwin did -- after all, he held of publishing his book for some 20-years because of what he feared it would do to the church!
I look at science as research and fact driven. As living in a field of logic mostly free of emotions. Religion on the other had is derived from a set of beliefs and traditions -- two things very stepped in emotions. After all, it's called "faith" for a reason.
I think climate change (we need to stop calling this global warming) is a scientific reality. I also believe my own faith will help me do the right thing to help this disaster from getting worse.

I agree with you that global warming is a tactic someone is using to fear us into compliance. Though I have always tried to take care of the earth through good conservation, there are too many facts they are leaving out that disprove this global warming idea.
Religion could be the same way, yes. But I draw a line between religion and faith. Religion is man-made. Faith is from God. God is real. The only way that you can ever find this out for yourself is to deal directly with Him. Demand He prove Himself to you, that IF HE IS, then you want to know Him. What do you think?

Actually the believers are more like a cult.
Having total faith in something that does not exsist.
And going after anyone who disagrees. Or trying to stifel any evidence against global warming.
Like this video showing that global warming isn't even happening.

Yes, you're correct. Both global warming and religion require a leap of faith to believe.
Remember there are no facts to tell you if it will be warmer or colder next year. It requires a "consensus" to tell you what to believe.

Actually global warming denial is much more like religion than global warming belief.
Both require blind faith, and they require you to ignore science. You have to simply believe because you want to believe.
