How did you go about getting there, and from where did you travel? How much did it cost you? Are there hotels close to base to stay in while there? Hotels close to base and the airports? Any and all info about it would be great!! Waiting on info to be mailed to me from my husband and anxious to know all this :)

I was the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Fort Leonard Wood Communications center years ago. It would help if you mentioned where you were coming from.

There are plenty of hotels and motels close by the base, There is also a guest house on base but you would probably need reservations to get a room there.

As far as airports the closest of any size is probably St Louis. a good 2 hour drive away

Ft Lost in the woods is off US 44 if I remember right about half way through the state from either direction.

Tips: Keep your mouth shut and do what you're told. Short cuts: No, there is no such thing concerning basic training. Experiences: Ft. Leonard Wood is hot as f*** in the summer. Been there, done that. Have fun.

Go to their website " Fort Leonard wood.com". There is a ton of information on exactly what you are asking about. And please say "thank you" for me to whomever you are going to see at graduation!!
