The county assessors office will give you the value for tax purposes. The tax collectors office can tell you what the bill is.

visit the assessor's website.
READ the explainations -- are properties automatically reassessed after a sale? what is the current tax rate [read the last tax bill fo rthe property].
also ask your realtor. [but check assessor as well -- "trust but verify"]

just go on the towns official web site, you should be able to see property tax rates for the county

How about looking at the MLS listing, asking the realtor, asking the seller? Those would be the most obvious places to look first.
