Because I can't explain creation without a creator.

Because I can't believe in the existence of anything without an origin except a Higher Power.

Because nothing else makes any sense; and when you say "In the beginning God" - everything finally makes sense.

I believe because disbelief is neither rational nor logical.

First of all, when I look at the universe, I can't help but believe that something greater than the big bang theory created it.
Second, I have felt the presence of Gods love, mercy and guidance every day of my life. If you have never experienced that feeling, then it is not any thing that I can explain. I have peace in my heart, and also I believe the Bible to be the spiritually inspired word of God. There really is so much more that I could say, but that is the main reasons that I know God exists.

When I was only 3 yrs old, God appeared to me for the first time, in the form of a great light. The effect on me was so profound, so that even until now I still can clearly remember the whole experience that happened 49 yrs ago. I knew Him before anyone could teach me about Him. Meanwhile, as I go on with life, He gives me company, teaching me many things and directing my spiritual progress. He has been a faithful parent and friend to me. So many things that happened throughout this life, tangible and intangible they may be, I have seen were His doing. How could I not believe in His existence? This reality is so much a part of me that I cannot imagine a life where He does not exist.

The first time He revealed Himself, I started to have that strong conviction to offer myself to His love and live for Him alone. In fact, I have been consecrated to Him at an early age, and I am still at present. Although living a simple life, I feel so blessed.

I don't know how to explain it, but I will try...

I feel it. I talk to him and I get answers from him. I am aware of his existence, I never feel alone. I have seen miracles in my own life. When I connect to him, I feel so good. It's like he's there and I'm here. The only thing real in my life is me and him. Everything else fades away. People move, people die, things get old, times change. Nothing is constant in this world except for him. Time is an illusion. God is eternal.

God is love, plain and simple.

Got Love?

peace

Believing in God and Christ will turn out to be true, when it does you have as much to gain as I do. We are innocent of all this, helpless in it but not wiped out as that would be so simple, but I see the sacrifices made to help all have life in the time allowed, then instead of one Adam, there will be all of the offsprings of Adam and the possibility of eternal life is before them then.
At 2007 after Christ the bible has been in circulation in the world 396 years,
it was begun 3560 years ago. When Jesus second coming is 100 years old, who will know the bible back to Abel, the 1000 year reign of Christ is for all.

The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today. The human brain's complexity shows a higher intelligence behind it. There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people. How does one explain the human brain? "Chance" or "natural causes" are insufficient explanations.

With out God we are saying:

Nothing produces everything

Non life produces life

Randomness produces fine tuning

Chaos produces information

Unconsciousness produces consciousness

Non-reason produces reason

None of which makes sense!

We've learned a lot through science since the Civil War. So many seem to be still trying to apply Darwin's 19th century thinking to a 21st century reality, and it doesn't work. Explanations from the steamboat era are no longer adequate in the world of cosmology, physics, astronomy, biochemistry, biology in this age. The only option left is that God exists!

Because i could not live a life based on empirical reality ,it would be so meaningless and mechanistic I would want to kill myself.Seriously.

Secondly it's because human beings have two seperate hemispheres in their brains, the left and right, the right being the more imaginative, metaphoric, artistic and intuitive of the two, dreams operate from the right, you could call it the 'spiritual' side. The left being the rational/logical and analytical side that is obsessed with classifying and quantifying things.

Why should we do away with our beliefs because some are more left brain orientated?

Human beings were meant to have the two work cohesively together and were not meant to be rational robotic automons whose lives are driven by facts.Nor to be religious zealots who have lost all capacity for reason. But somewhere in the middle.

To whoever said that living things can't be made from non-living things:

Cells are living things that can make up large organisms. I don't find it impossible that cells can be created from non-living things. Perhaps a certain combination of chemicals and atoms or whatever can make cells.

That theory seems much more logical than some all-divine, all-loving god creating everything in 6 or 7 days. This god doesn't seem all-loving to me. Currently, there's so much crap in the world like innocent people dying of starvation in places like Africa. Not only is it just in this planet, but also there's a black hole in our Milky Way galaxy that's currently sucking our solar system. If God is all-loving, why did he make all living things to be doomed in a few billion years?

Heh "once and for all" eh? You mean until the next time you ask.

I believe in God because I have seen and experienced things which not only defy astronomical odds, but also appear to be guided by an intelligent force.

I can offer no "empirical evidence" for you, only examples of what makes me believe, but I don't think you'd really be interested, so I'll leave it at that.
