Do take them back for a refund. Let's not make a bad situation worse by throwing away plastic, drug laced no less, that will end up in the ocean.
What we need to do is be willing to pay what things really cost. Refuse to buy anything that isn't made in your home country, by unionized workers. That would take away the incentive for 3rd world countries who poison our children and the environment, and abuse laborers in the process.
I shop a lot more but buy a lot less, and what I do buy lasts a lot longer. But I know an awful lot of people who'd rather have the cheap stuff because when it wears out, they get to go shopping again, yayyy.

I AGREE!!!! Can't we make this stuff in the USA! They wanna talk about how stuff can be made cheaper in other countries etc...well, make the stuff here, I think right now they have lost WAY to much money. MAKE IT IN THE USA!!!!!!! HELLO PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
Yes, this was one of the things at the top of my daughters Christmas list.......it is now going back to Wal-Mart, along with the pack of refills. What a joke. What are kids supposed to get for Christmas this year. Almost everything is coming from China.
Looks like Clothes and Socks :o) Then they can pull a Ralphie and Randy (Christmas Story) and just throw the clothes up in the air, like they don't matter!!!
What a joyful holiday season!
I can't wait though, hope things get better for the toys.

Most of the time if there has been a safety recall for an item and it is still being distrubted through a company they usually post something where you'd find the toy that states they have been recalled and exactly why. but from my point of view if you have to question the safety of a toy then you should not buy it at all.

When will it get thought to consumers that its just not safe to buy toys made in China? I know i hear over and over again that the cost would be to high for manufacturers to make toys either in the States or Canada well I as a parent will pay the extra cost to ensure my kids safety this is insane and unless we stand up together and refuse to buy toys made in China these kinds of tragedy's will continue happening
Oh dont throw in the bin they will mess up the enviroment.take them back to whatever place sold them to you or even just to walmart they will take all back

Are you people joking?
You honestly think there are '3rd world countries poisoning our children'??
Banning Chinese toys is not the point, it is the US, UK, Australian etc companies who mandate the production standards, no matter where the factories are. Think about sweatshops, and the recent uproar about iPod worker conditions-- our companies make the decisions, and ignore worker conditions and quality control. It is their responsibility. If their focus is on outsourcing to other countries to cut costs, obviously they don't care much for quality control either.
Obviously I also believe it is totally ridiculous that kids are being exposed to a harmful drug, but the answer is not a total ban.

No I don't have them, but I did want some, before I heard about this.
I hope everyone who has these toys will take them back for a refund, no matter how used or old the toy is.
You are doing a great service here, thank you

This was one of the many times me being slow to follow the trend has worked in my benefit. This toy was on my daughter's Christmas Wish List, but that was erased after we watched this news on TV this afternoon.
Like I said when this all first started.... all the kids in my family are getting books for Christmas this year. Seriously.

I had just got a starter kit and three refills for my child as a birthday gift. We had not opened them, so I took them back and got a full refund. I agree! There needs to be some kind of ban, this is getting out of hand.

Don't throw them in the bin, take them to where you brought them and get your money back... we had so many people coming in with Bindeez last night at work, and even if they're all made up and without a box, they're able to be refunded. Some of those things can get pretty pricey.
Don't joke about getting high on them because they reckon they might start getting sold on the black market to teens. What a scary thought.
