Is a high school diploma neccessary if you want to start your own business?

I'm so unhappy at school because of my birth defect and I'm smarter than most of the kids there.

Would it be that important?
I want to start my own business anyway.
What about a GED?

If you have your own business, your customers will judge you by the quality of your product or service. They don't care how smart you are or how much education you have. However, education, even a GED, will help you run a better business.

Most people have to work a while to save up money to start their business. If you have to go work for someone else, then a diploma, or even a degree, is even more important.
