Your evolution question is whacked. Evolution causes splits. If everything that evolved into anything else was a total thing in a straight line then there would only be one type of life on earth.

As to scientology, ask the people who hate it and never met one. They will tell you a ton of stuff that is secret knowledge only known to the top members (in other words, 99% of scientologists dont know this secret stuff so they cant believe it, right?)

I took some courses from Scientology. Communications and study course. Good stuff. I still use it all the time.

Scientology doesn't have much to do with evolution at all. The basics of it are that the true essence of a man is that he/she is a spiritual being, called theatan in Scientology, that over time has regressed from a near omnipotent state to what we are today. Of course Scientology charges out the ying yang to get back to that state (300-500k per person) and their advanced stuff is confidential, but has leaked on numerous occasions (that's where the Xenu story comes into play). I think it is a dangerous belief system not because of the specific beliefs but because of the fact that Scientology is all about the money and controlling people.

(1) No one who knows anything about evolution claims that "monkeys evolved into humans".

(2) Scientology, or rather L. Ron Hubbard, the creator of Scientology, claimed that humans evolved from clams. This is a faulty claim. He did not understand evolution and we did not evolve from clams. If anyone has any doubt that he asserted this claim, read A History of Man by Hubbard.

(3) Scientology is a cult, not a religion. Click here for more info: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071014104120AAghRBS

Who told you we were monkeys? I was an elephant in my past life, evolved from a T-Rex.

Stick to the more common beliefs like santa clause, peter pan and tooth fairy. Guaranteed no more headaches.

Well some of us do act like monkeys... ooo ooo ooo aa aa aa!

Actually, they believe that our souls are the reincarnated souls of aliens from an ancient destroyed planet.

The south park scientology episode actually checks out.
