It doesn't matter at all.
It only starts to matter when you feel the need to correct other people's beliefs. When you start restrict other people rights based on your beliefs. When you start pressuring others to pray with you.
If you could just hold true to your beliefs while allowing others to have theirs, then everything would be fine

If that's all that this was about, then yes. We wouldn't care.
What we have issue with isn't the simple fact that people believe in God, it's that those people are using belief in invisible, magical, supernatural beings that have no evidence for existence to try to tell me how to live my life. They're trying to make laws--that don't really *benefit* anyone, (but just appease the belief) that we all have to live with. (Ex: blue laws.) They impede scientific and medical progress due to their beliefs in this being. They try to get an unsubstantiated story from a 2000 year old book put into our school science classrooms. They try to tell our children that the Earth is less than 10,000 years old and that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time---not because they have ANY scientific evidence to show that that claim is fact, but because they feel that that's what their 2000 year old book wants them to think. They fight allowing loving couples the basic human right of marriage. They tell people in nations where people are dying by the millions from AIDS and starvation that birth control is wrong. They fly planes into buildings.
Do you understand why we have an issue with people's belief in "God"? We WISH it was simply a matter of wanting to live on after death.

Yes, it's true I don't believe in an afterlife or a soul. My mind, organs, etc. all shut down the minute I cease to be. Again, if you want to believe in a God or that you will be rewarded with eternal life, cool. I don't go around telling people that their God doesn't exist or whatever, unless we're having a religious discussion. Otherwise, it's not necessary.

It matters when theists attempt to turn personal religious beliefs into public policy by enacting laws and legislation based upon religion. Then it makes a difference to everybody.
Otherwise, you are correct. Believe whatever you want, just allow everyone else the same courtesy.

Would you let someone worship Satan, and have human sacrifices to him even if they are willing to be sacrificed?
No, I wouldn't either, but it makes no difference to you.
Well your god idea, drags the rest of the world down, you may not see it.
But think of genetic and biological research, how many times religion gets in the way.

I have never said It mattered or that I care if other people believe in god. I feel that people should have freedom to believe in whatever they want.

Why does it matter to you what people think? With a screen name like that, I really have little sympathy for you.
I think I'm gonna start collecting a list of such screen names that I see...
