If I was to save you from a fire it would be out of the kindness of my heart, if you choose not to care, that's not my problem. No you shouldn't care if I shoved my belief down your throat because, a person will follow what they choose...that's why everyone was created to think on their own and follow whom they choose.

I think that a person who saved you from a fire would have love in their heart for you. I don't think that they would be shoving a belief down your throat. I think they would just hope you were OK. Were you saved from a fire and someone then shoved some weird belief down your throat? I should hope not!
Love, Melissa

What if you mistakenly believe that pouring gas on me will douse the fire?
In other words, what if you are shoving the wrong beliefs down my throat and trying to get me to believe in the wrong god(s)?
What if You are believing in the wrong god(s) and don't know it?
Do you mind if someone continually tells you that your beliefs are wrong and tries to convert you to their beliefs?
What if in their hearts they believe just as strongly that they are saving you from a fire?

when it's a fire that you can't see, hear, feel, smell, or otherwise perceive, an invisible, intangible fire that produces no heat or smoke and doesn't actually burn things, and the only evidence i can show that there's a fire that you need to be saved from is my interpretation of a translation of a translation of a collection of ancient texts that, perhaps, you've read yourself and *don't* interpret to mean that your house is on fire ... then yes. i'd be pushing my beliefs on you

Yes - especially if they are trying to convert you while you are still inside that burning building. It wouldn't convince me of anything except that you were a brave person.
