Well first off, when you get out of the shower, towel your hair to reduce the wetness and then add some volumizing mousse to it, a golf ball size or less would be good for your stick straight hair. and then blow dry your hair and using a 3/4 inch to a 1 inch curler curl some parts of your hair and then add some hairspray and finishing spray. and voila! Also, just remember that a little goes a long way, do not use more than a golf ball size of mousse because it will make your hair crinkly (N)

since your hair is so straight, what I would try doing is when you wash your hair, braid it when it's damp and sleep on the braids. Then the next day take out the braids and you should have soft waves. Or you could try buying some mousse, Aussie has a wonderful brand of gel & mousse combined, it works really good on my hair.

to get waves like those on the best, bathe yet dont use as plenty conditioner as you regularly could. towel dry your hair for some mintues, then section hair into one or 2 sections. twist each and each section thoroughly, and tie it right into a coarse bun, blowdry the bun for 2 or 3 minutes. untie hair yet dont brush it. scrunch some mousse in. as quickly as hair dries slightly, scrunch in gell, making specific to no longer upload adequate to make your hair stiff. while hair dries, you have got loose waves. hairspray helps if your hair is rather skinny.

yeah, the braid thing would make it look crimp-y. If you do realllly loose curls and hairspray it well, it might work.
