Well, best is not only to use a cork screw, but a good long one. If the cork breaks in the bottle, it'll not be good.
The emergency alternative is to use a screw driver and screw in a long threaded wood screw and then pull it off with a pliers.
Remember to always keep the wine bottle on it's side with the cork wet so that it does not dry off and break into pieces when removing.
Take care and enjoy the wine.

Use something sturdy like an ice-pick or small screwdriver and push the cork into the bottle. Be careful as this typically forces some of the wine to "splash" out.
If it is sparkling wine you can saber it by quickly running a large knife up along the neck of the bottle. This tends to break the neck off so, again, be careful.

You can use the butt end of a butter knife and slowly push the cork down into the bottle. Have done this many a time when we have been camping and forgot the wine key. Not the classiest, but it works and if you do it right you won't get any small pieces of cork in your wine.

Well you're a female so these might not work.
My hubby would put a screw into the cork and then use brute strength and a tool to pull the cork out.
If you have neighbors close by, I'd call one and borrow their corkscrew. I loaned mine out to a neighbor with exactly that problem. Actually, I left it with her for a month so she would have time to buy one as this was only one and I had 1-2 more. I make wine.

Yes, I just learned this myself recently, take a towel and a butter knife, and wrap the towel around the butter knife to give yourself a good grip and grab the bottle with the other hand and push the cork into the bottle with the toweled knife, you can place the bottle on the floor as you sit at the table but you must hold the bottle tightly. Great luck!!

I have pushed the cork inside the bottle a few times. I first took a few hunks out of the cork with my knife trying to get it open then carefully used the knife to push the rest inside.

How about something like a kebab skewer to make a hole in the middle of the cork? Might get a dribble of wine out that way if you really can't wait until tomorrow.
Makes screw caps much more appealing when you can't get in :-)

screw in a long large-threaded screw 3/4 of the way into the cork, and gently pull the cork out wiht a rocking motion.

push the cork into the bottle using a knife or something, then get a piece of string and make a large knot at the end. push the string into the wine bottle so the knot is underneath the cork and pull the string. its tricky, but it works.
