Always be honest, if she breaks up with you, clearly you're not right for eachother, end of..move on..
Personally, I'd tell him to stop doing it and that it's odd, and I'd demand reasons why he was such a weirdo.. then I'd probably get over it, as long as he wasnt sniffing all girls underwear.

M&S employ people to sniff returned clothing to see if they have been worn and require cleaning prior to being put back on sale, maybe they'll give you a job!
