Remington 700 series Bolt Action Rifles are the #1 rifle in the world , and have an International reputation for highest Accuracy and Quality manufacturing, in the firearms manufacturing industry today. I sell Remington 700's 10-1 over any other rifle brand made in my stores.....
The Savage 110 shouldn't be over looked however, as it is a very popular rifle for the money and has many "custom" features that are included with all models at no additional cost.. They can often be found in rifle/scope combination packages that sell for around $400, and come in all of the popular Standard and Magnum calibers offered today.....

Oh yes, quite a fine rifle. I have the model 111, which doesn't have much of a difference from the 110. Mine was a gift to me from my father. The synthetic stock on mine is definitely a plus. They are cheap, but very good. Mine was used when he bought it coming with a surprisingly nice factory Simmons scope. It is in 30-06 and I have killed a couple deer with it. Also, like most people have mentioned, the are accurate. I can get my groups at about half of an inch at 100, 150 yards.

The Savage 100 is a very good rifle and can be extremely accurate, but if you get one with a hardwood stock, be sure to seal the inside of the stock against warping, as a warped stock will put pressure on the barrel and impede accuracy. Or just get it with the synthetic stock.
Personally I would place the Savage a close second behind the Remingon 700 which to me has perfect balance, crisp trigger, smooth action, and excellent accuracy. In the larger magnum calibres i would also vouch for the Winchester Model 70 XTR as the stock does an excellent job controlling recoil, but in standard calibres it is a bit heavy, and I have no use for the magazine base-plate which is just another moving part to damage and another piece of metal to rust, hence my preference for the ADL over the BDL in the Rem.700 line.

I own a 10FCP in .308, I use it for coyote hunting and professional shooting(with a scope change). I shot a uber custom version of the Rem 700, in the army, and I would say I like the Savage slightly better. they are bout the same for accuracy. sub half inch MOA. typically the Savage has a better price for what ya get, with the accu-trigger and all the goodies..... good hunting

I just bought a 110 in 30-06 and love it! That thing shot dead on at 100 yards right out of the box! I killed 5 deer with it last year at distances ranging from 75 to 250 yards.
My best gun is a .25-06 Remington 700 Sendero with a varmint barrel and 2.5-12X52 Leupold scope. I can shoot "one hole groups" at 200 yards with it. Definitely a tack-driver.

savage rifles are extremly accurate. Most law enforcement snipers, military and long range shooters shoot a savage rifle. I own a mod. 110 tactical rifle. I can cover a three shot group @ 300 yds. with a nickel.

Savage is a great shooter.* I can consistently shoot (3)* Three shot groups with mine you can cover with a Quarter.* I had a 244 caliber with a bull barrel & 10 power scope mounted on it that would group Ten (10)* shots at 100yards you could cover with a dime .* Savage at 100 yards above in regards to shooting 3 shot groups you can cover with a quarter in 30-06 caliber.*
