He is obviously curious about the table and he likes to climb. Show him the proper way to use the table. Show him how to sit in the chair. Encourage him to climb into the chair and sit down at the table like a big boy. Give him a snack at the table that he can sit in the chair and eat. This is what I did with my girls and it seems to have worked because at 15 months they are no longer doing this. Toddlers are hard work! Unfortunately I don't think they respond to the word NO or discipline very well at this age. They are just becoming able to explore their world and figure out how things work. You have to be creative and think of positive ways to get them to behave appropriately. It's a long process and they don't always get it the first time but they do learn. Just be patient and try to stay positive.

Hmm so he's smart enough to pull the chairs out? With my neice we just had to keep the chairs pushed in and that was enough. Is there a way you can tie the chairs to each other or to the table underneath the table? All I can think of, sorry! Good luck!

Sit him in his high-chair (I presume you have one) while you are in the kitchen. He can't get into any trouble. You can give him something to play with. In the old days; high-chairs could be folded in half and be used as an eating table or a play table. Also, tell him no when it comes to certain things; and you have to mean it by standing by your word.

Everytime you see him on there or about to climb just shout NO! quite loudly so he jumps and will get a bit scared and he will know he is wrong. Give him a little telling off and pick him up. If he does it again repeat the process then he will soon no he is in the wrong. I do this with my sister when she does lots of things and it makes her jump and starts to cry and wants a hug :D. She never does it again though so i would try it if i were you.

i have a nine month old male German shepherd and mine used to do the same thing. i cured this problem by telling the dog 'no' and nudging him till he got down. When he got down i gave him a treat and praised him. After a while she will get the message and get down for the treat, then after a while she will not need a treat but will do it. This will take a while but if you stick at it you should see a difference. It is important that you do not give the dog any food when she puts her paws up or she will keep doing it. German shepherds are a persistent breed and you need to keep at it. Good luck.

Move the chairs away from the table. Maybe if you have room, line them up against a wall.

Turn the table upside down until it is safe! Or take the chairs out of the room all together.

when he climbs up on the table grab him and set him on the floor, get down to eye level and say in a firm voice No we dont get on the table.
if he does it again get him down and in a firm voice say No. It may take a few times but he will get the idea that he has to stay down. that is what i do when my 13 month old nephew climbs on things.
