I'm 15 years old and I was brought here by my parents when i was 3 from mexico illegally. I grew up here in the USA and i consider it my home even though i came from mexico. I don't even remember mexico. I get really scared whenever the border patrol deports people near where i live because if my parents would be deported, I'd get deported too and i dont wanna lose my home and all my friends. I think its really unfair how people always talk about wanting to deport all the illegal immigrants and dont think about illegal minors who's lives will be completely ruined if they got deported too. Don;t forget some of us were brought here against our will. And when people call illegal immigrants "criminals" That gets me mad. Do you consider all the little kids brought here illegally criminals too? These kids won't be able to get jobs later on or drive even though they haven't done anything to deserve this.

@duke Actually my parents do pay taxes too.
And i know its my parents fault but i can't be mad at them. I just wish there was a way for minors to become legal.

@All the people that say i'm blaming the USA or the goverment: I'm not. I know its my parents fault and they won't apply for citizenship because they think they'll get deported.
@the anti ppl:
Imagine if you were in my position. All your friends are here and then what if one day you get deported. You'll have to leave your life behind in the U.S.
I think the government should start off by building a higher fence that is way harder to climb and put more surveillance on the border. That'll probably reduce the number of immigrants coming in illegally. Then they should solve the immigration problem of the illegal aliens already in the U.S.

i am very smart too. I got all honors classes at school.
@facundo: I'm not like that. I would never disrespect anybody. I think it's wrong to marry someone to just get a green card.

No matter if you were carried here by your parents -- you are an illegal They have done you a wrong and a service. They have given you a good education at taxpayers' expense, but they've made you a person without a country - you live in one you don't belong to and you belong to one what you don't know.
I know a little about this situation, though my story takes place entirely in the United States. And I would like to encourage you to see a future that is outside the box and very powerful and special because of it.
You have been dealt a hand that could be tragic or adventurous. I would say that as soon as you are old enough and are able to support yourself, you go to Mexico and see what adventure awaits you there. When you are legal in your country, you can travel the world and never worry again about deportation. The world awaits you. An adventurous future awaits you. You could become the legend in your family who influences generations. You could be the writer who explains cultures to each other. Don't be satisfied by making your life little, hiding in the shadows or living in Mexico and mourning the United States. Make it a big life.
You may feel this is easy for me to say. But time passes anyway, so grab it and make it serve you.

Fact is, I feel for the kids whos parents didn't think about that. I know that you personally didn't choose to come here, but your parents did. It's them who you really need to talk to. I understand that you love them and also that you know that they are the reason for the fear you have. I'm sorry, but your parents did commit a crime by coming here.
You say that they pay taxes. My question would be, HOW do they pay taxes? Do they have some sort of working documents? If so, since they are here illegally, they are again breaking the law unless there is some working document that illegals can get legally. If they are using a social security number in order to hold a job, they are committing fraud, which is a federal crime. Either way, unless there IS a document that illegals can get to allow them to work and pay taxes, your parents aren't actually the ones paying the taxes, though they may THINK they are.
You are right, the kids of illegals won't be able to get jobs legally, nor will they be able to drive. Your parents should have thought of that before bringing you here. Good luck.

This is also a touchy subject for me not because my parents or grandparents are illegal because they actually aren't but because of the overlying reason for this great focus on MEXICAN immigrants in particular. Since the inception of this country the founding pilgrims used all sorts of immigrants to build their cities, streets and railroads. (I wont get into the whole slaughtering of Native Americans at this time although a very important topic) Who do you think built the great monuments we as Americans love and respect? That's right, immigrants, this however is all obvious to the educated readers so I won't delve to far in that direction either. I'm just making a point. Let's not make this a race issue but for argument's sake most White Americans have illegal immigrant bloodlines stemming from Ireland to Italy to Israel to name a few places. So although there are laws to be followed remember that someone in your family possibly went through the same situation. On that note I'll say this. From the days of the Illegal Pilgrimage of the Europeans whom landed "Illegally" on this country's soil to the ancient Egyptian times people have always had to deal with illegal immigration. Every generation has had to overcome one Law after another and each time there is always a way to gain citizenship. Stop being afraid for no reason, Apply for citizenship, be proactive and look for advice there are plenty of resources that can help you and your loved ones when faced with deportation. One website that i came across pretty quickly was FreeAdvice.com they have an article about the requirements for becoming a naturalized united states citizen. Although I understand your reasoning I have to say that there will always be Immigration rules to be followed so as long as we live in a Republic controlled by Corporations things will not change.

I think you and others like you should be put near the top of the list to become American citizens if that is what you want. This country can make room for legal immigrants. We always have. But the country has a huge problem with the invasion of millions of illegals. If there weren't so many, it would not be such a problem. And if we weren't a socialist country that steals money from the workers, to give benefits to the millions, we wouldn't have such a huge problem either. But the way things are, we have a very serious problem here. I wish you luck. Keep getting your education and staying out of trouble and hopefully, with Gods help, you will find a way.

you say that your fathers employer knows that your dad is illegal and that he is paying into taxes? under who's' name and social security number?
anyway, if your parents are illegal they knew the consequences. there comes a time when the citizens of the U.S. can not continue to bend for every cause that comes down the pike. the problem is now that there are too many now to over look it any more. there are in the neighborhood of 20 MILLION illegal people here from mexico. I'm sure most of them have children. how are we supposed to assimilate all of those children because their parents came here illegally?
the best i can say is if you are deported apply for a visa and you can come here legally. you are educated and know the language which will give you a foot up.

I understand where you are coming from.......No you are not a criminal..........Many Americans have parents that have had DUI, killed someone , have done drugs etc......that doesn't make their children criminals. The only criminal is the person committing the felony or misdemeanor not the entire family. So am with you there.
I know this is hard going all the way to Mexico when its not your country but have you considered legal advice?
Maybe you will have a chance to come in thru Mexico as a student?
That's why the dream act is important for kids like you. that will become professionals for the United States.

Illegal is illegal. When the illegal alien parents are deported, the kids have to leave too.
Sorry but this is a zero tolerance issue. If a kid can't take care of themselves WHEN the parents are deported the kids have to go also. It's not fair to keep the parents here BECAUSE of the kids because that rewards illegal behavior (this includes anchor babies.) In your case, you are an illegal alien, even though you grew up here.
I don't care that it makes you mad when people call illegal aliens CRIMINALS because that is what they are! Are the illegals breaking the law? Are they breaking the law on purpose? Are they taking jobs and services that are meant for citizens? Sorry but all of these things are indicative of being a criminal.
As for the kids, they are illegals too. What should they be called? Even though they were forced to come here, they are still breaking the law with their parents. They will continue to do so when they are 18. I assume that you aren't planning on returning to your home country when you turn 18, are you? So, you will also be an illegal alien CRIMINAL because you are breaking the law.
Fine, give me a thumbs down. My comments are based on the LAW! Your opinion is not based on fact and you are wrong.

I'm sorry for your pain.
I'm sorry there's no answer to help both sides. I'm sorry this is such a hard situation to be in, to fix, to figure out.
I understand both sides. And I just feel sad for the people from Mexico who want to come here to live a better life, because I understand that here in America, you can. But I understand all the problems is can cause for us to have illegal immigrants to come across the border.
I absolutely hate the situation. I wish something could be done. I wish that for many problems in the world. But everything has consequences. Every action has a reaction.
I'm sorry.

You should go back and come back the LEGAL way. If not, you'll always live in the under belly of society, lurking...
You'll always have to look over your shoulder, you cant vote, you cant LEGALLY work, ETC.. Is that how you want to live the rest of your life? Show YOUR children what an upstanding Citizen looks and feel likes! Dont make the same mistakes your parents made..
