Since they don't believe in a afterlife, wouldn't they just walk the earth as a ghost still thinking they are alive?

i believe in afterlife. i'm spiritual. afterlife is a natural process, it still happens whether people believe in it or not. so i guess people who don't believe in afterlife still think that they are alive once they're dead.
