my dog is my baby, I play with him, i treat him like a baby, sleeps with me. he is the baby among 2 other dogs. the other dogs love him and play with him. he is not afraid. I saw him once imitating the other dog, but no sound came out. is he mute?

Some dog breeds, for example Siberian huskies, don't bark or rarely do. Does your dog howl or make other sounds? It's best to check with a vet. No matter what, don't love him any less.

Possibly.. My neighbour's dog is like 4 or 6 years old. It's a big dog who sleeps outside on the sundeck. He NEVER barks like maybe once a month.. not even whine. When he barks it only lasts for like a minute so your not alone..

Some dogs are just naturally quiet, I have a friends whose dog has only ever barked once in her life!
If you are worried about it you should take him to the vet though, or at least call and talk to them about it.

Probably not mute, just no reason to bark. We just heard our bulldog bark for the first time yesterday. shes 7 months.
might not be a bad thing that hes not a barker!

I don't think so. If he gets scared and by himself, he will probably bark. Is the dog male or female. I think female would do less barking.

If you call to him does he come? If he does, no he is not deaf, nor mute.... some dogs just don't bark.
