If I see a movie I love, I tell people about it. This doesn't offend them.
If I go to a new restaurant and have a great meal and a great time, I tell people about it. This doesn't offend them.
If I'm a member of a religion that is exciting to me and makes me feel happy and energetic and positive and motivated and it makes my life better, why wouldn't I share that with others? Why would anyone be offended by someone sharing something they love.
I know that some people can get pushy with their beliefs and some people can be all "Holier than thou," but that's not everyone. Most people really believe and love their religion and just want others to have that same great feeling.
If it doesn't offend you when people share their beliefs about restaurants and movies, you shouldn't let it bug you when people want to share their religious beliefs. You don't have to go to the movie or the restaurant and you don't have to buy into the religion.

No. Proselytizing isn't what starts wars.
Religion itself is founded on the premise that it is indeed correct. This is all religions. Proselytizing or not, people are still going to have a negative opinion of those who are wrong, and believe they're entitled to things that they're not entitled to.
Moreover, I don't want peace. We learn nothing from peace.

not really. Aetheistic communist regimes exterminated more people in the 20th century than had been killed in all semitic religious violence of the entire last 2000 years combined. Atheists are MUCH more efficient at murdering by the thousands (and even the millions) than the semitic religions

I sincerely doubt it as they'd still believe as strongly as they did before but they'd just keep it to themselves. Extremists will always be extremists whether they're vocal or not.
I know for a fact I'd enjoy myself a lot better without all these folks bothering me on the weekend by trying to "spread the word".
