Moon, you are very wise to feel the comfort which comes from the scriptures! There is peace, forgiveness and salvation, within those words and they are for ALL.
Things are getting scary and they will continue to get scarier. However, as a Christian, I have no fear, for God's presence is with me. Only satan gives you a "spirit" of fear...not God! I want you to realize this because satan does NOT want you knowing your Creator, God! However, through God, you can have His peace and the assurance that your soul, will have eternal life, through Jesus Christ.
I want you to understand, most Christians, do not have blinders on. We are extremely intelligent, in many cases. If you look, openmindedly, at your own life....can you not see that God has touched your life in many ways? Why? Because He loves you....He created your soul and desires that you come to Him, freely, seeking Him.
I am sorry you feel this fear. Therefore, I will pray that God will intervene and turn this fear into HOPE, in Him and His desire to reunite with a soul, He loves like no other can! Praying that you understand the "comfort" in which you feel, from the Bible....will continue to grow!
Blessings

You poor thing. Here's my understanding. Big business is destroying the planet in the process of making more profit. Rich people now possess unbelievable wealth while millions, soon to he hundreds of millions, are literally starving to death each year. Rich people also own the mass media, which they use to justify their wrong doings and endlessly remind us that we've never had it so good.
The sun is heating up, so there is a chance that global warming is completely made up. Whatever it is, you can bet that big business will use it as an excuse to make more profit, which will cause more suffering; while the mass media endlessly tells us about Paris's latest sex video, or some other insignificant event.
Yes it is bad.
On Dec 25, go out, look into the sky to the east, you will see a bright star. In line with this star will be three smaller stars, called the three kings. These four stars will point, come morning, to the point at which the sun will rise. So, The three kings will follow the star in the east to the point where the sun will be born. That is the root of the bible; and all other religous texts for that matter. If you doubt me, go look in the sky on Dec 25. Bethlehem translates as bread basket, which is a part of the constellation that has something to do with it all. I can't remember what.

You're a witch, but the Bible is all that brings you comfort.
Odd, but if it works for you.........
I am also worried about humanity. We seem so determined to bicker and do ourselves harm. It helps me to turn off the TV, back away from the computer and go meet some real people. Also whenever I do something that makes the world a tiny bit better, I feel like our problems are all within our ability to handle. Try that instead of the Bible by itself.

of direction! Depleting organic ingredients, landfills taking extra area, worldwide warming, and different themes i would be unable to truly think of off the right of my head. Im frightened slightly yet doubt that the outcomes could result me in my lifetime. Who i'm somewhat scared for is the subsequent era, my teenagers.

I wouldn't worry about it. Everything changes all the time. You, me, the world in general. Nothing stays the same for any length of time. It changes and grows. Its nothing to do with God, or a pissed-off Mother Nature, it just happens. Yeah, there are things we can do to make it better, and less harmful to ourselves, but doing it usually costs money, and nobody is willing to pay. So we all have to put up with the consequences.
Thats what makes the world go round...Actions + Consequences.

The Bible is a series of allegories. The Book of Revelation was an allegory about the Roman Empire and has nothing to do at all with predicting the end of the world. If you'd been alive 15,000 years ago when the ice age came, you'd be freaking out about the same thing, but the world never ended, now did it? Don't you think people during the Black Death and World War II were thinking the same thing? And we all kept going on. Don't freak out about it.

There is a lot to be frightened of, if we allow our mind to dawdle in countless possible futures which may never come to pass.
If reading the bible gives you a feeling of comfort, well, who am I to tell you otherwise? Please remember, though, a book is paper and ink (or pixels of light). The source of comfort is the state of calm you reached in your own heart. There are many ways to achieve this state of calm. The most reliable ways do not involve an external object (like a book) which can easily be separated from you, perhaps when you most need it. I suggest you learn some of the many ways to find the calm which always resides in your heart; that way you can return to the calm inside when the outside looks scary. (as it often does to anyone paying attention to it !)
Peace to you,
;-)

what you believe is true, i am sick of people whos brain can only accept their point of veiw. open your mind a little.
Some people are people who will worry, others will sit and sarcasticly speculate online, but if you feel overwelmed by worry, find some way of dealing with it yourself, wether that is learning more about it or making a small difference, it is the action thats important,
comfort can be you hidying from something, as a teenager i have spent several weeks hidying at home in my room and only going out at night, this is beacause i have had to make several large decisions and come to terms with them.
are you hidy from something, if so try and confront, deal with the issue and move on.
HIH - hope i helped
peace

No the bible is some odd bits of history distorted by different writers for their own reasons or out of ignorance mixed up with some superstitious nonsense and some propagandise. What we care getting weather wise is the normal fluctuations that the earth goes through.
