Why should this forum be called just Israel section?

Israel is occupying a huge part of Palestine after '67 and the international community is in agreement that it is not Israels to keep aswell as Israel is keeping the West Bank under military occupation which is due to some day atleast become a part of Palesitne.

That said wouldnt it be logical that this forum be called Israel/Palestine section?

wow, 7 answers that say "there is no Palestine" but yet they scream why no one recognizes Israel! hehe, tit for tat as usual........I actually wrote to YA on this matter, 2 months ago and did not even get a reply back. That makes 8 who are walking around with their eyes closed in this world. (On Yahoo anyway) but it's a good idea to at least have 2 sections. But then what would happen? Palestinians would still come into the Israel section, and Israel would come into the Palestinian section, 2 places to argue our points. In my mind anyway when I see anything that mentions Israel I also think of the Palestinians. Cheers!

I think we have to wait until the State of Palestine comes into existence to see Yahoo! considers your wish. Jordan is an independent country, yet there is no section for Jordan. So, how could you expect Yahoo! to create another section for Palestine?

For those who really want to see Palestine section, I suggest you follow paperback's advice, maybe Yahoo! will create a section called West Bank and Gaza Strip or Palestine Territory section even if I doubt they would do so.

Zoser is right; Israel section is actually intended for travel purpose. Yet, many people here "expand" it to a discussion forum for issues of religions and politics which already have their own respective sections.

It should not be called Israel/Palestine. If you want to go back in time, you could rename the section "The British Mandate over Palestine." But then it would have to include Jordan (77.2 percent of the original Palestine, given to the Hashemite king by the British for his help against the Ottoman Turks).

They COULD create a separate section for "The West Bank and Gaza Strip." HOWEVER, since this is a TRAVEL section, created by a US COMPANY, and the US tells citizens NOT TO TRAVEL TO THESE AREAS, I am assuming that this is why there is no catagory for those areas. If the section were "world geography, countries and territories," i would fully support a catagory for these areas.

Lets be logic, this is not a forum it is just a site meant for Q,A and this section is under travel/middle east/whatever…so they did not design this site to discuss our societies , political conditions....etc although we do that, twisting the site creator’s hand ,, first we have to agree it is to ask and answer question which could interest a person who intend to travel to a certain distention, Is there a site for Sudan, Libya, Guinea, ..etc, obviously no , as there is no heavy tourist traffic to these areas, Now the question: Is there a tourist traffic to Palestine,,, the answer is known, so I do not think anyone is racist here,, we are misusing this site, not them,,,If we want to discuss politics related to where ever, there is a section called politics, and recent events ,,there is also one titled events,, The aim of Yahoo by creating this Q&A is to remove the boarders among people, and to create a global society,,,( I do not here state my view of Israel or Palestine, just trying to calm everyone down)

1 - Palestinians get back their lands They will at the minimum because of their birthrate and the drop in israeli population numbers. There are many other reasons but this is verifiable and cannot be argued against. 2 - Palestinians accept the occupation and live under the Israeli Flag After 60 years Palestinians are still fighting to free their land. Everyday ersatz israel hammers another nail in their own coffin. 3 - Two states solution Impossible to work. Not enough land and resources and fighting will continue because it does not resolve any issues. 4 - Christians, Muslims and Jews live again like before 1948. You have not listed the zionists. They are not Jewish and not of the local ethnicity. Until they are removed there will be no peace.

There are some vile humans that answer on this section- it scares any hope for peace. Of course this should be the Israel/ Palestine section. People may just start to talk in a decent way, stranger things have happened....

If Yahoo Answers have some democracy then yes they should call it Israel/Palestine or make a seperate section called Palestine. I have a lot of questions to ask to the Palestinians but I can rarely find them here so I wont ask those questions.
If they don't want to make Palestine section, they should at least make Jordan section. But YA is not fair.

"Palestine" does not exist, please define it's borders and under whose law? The West Bank used to be Jordanian and the Gaza Strip was Egyptian, Egypt decided not to take back
the Gaza Strip under the Camp David Accords.

EDIT: hopeless - Israel exists, Palestine does not, it's nothing with recognising each other, it's the fact that there is no country called Palestine at the time of wrting. Even the UN says there's only one country in the world that isn't a member and that's Vatican City.
