the only smart thing my english (guy) teacher has ever said is "guys are worthless until they graduate college." im starting to think he is right, because almost all guys in my grade are stupid and jerks. tell me if im wrong, but if im right, how can i survive high school with boys who are so immature?

YES they are worthless until college. Your teacher is 100% right. Because boys mature like 2 years behind girls. There has been studies to prove this. So while you are like 15 in the 9th grade, he is still 13 in the 7th grade mentally.
So you can survive by completely avoiding them and not dating until after high school. OR date somebody that you've known for a while that does not necessarily got to your school. Meet guys somewhere else,

at this age guys are not always interested in "one" thing, they are concern about finding friendships---this is called finding a sense of belonging and at times guys have to act like their friends to be accepted or they can lose their identity. Its a guy thing. As the guy grows older their hormones tend to misguide them and allow their hormones run wild which means that most guys then focus on girls or at least on that one thing; not all guys are the same but they all have to play the part or lose credibility with their friends why do you think some guys lie about certain things when it comes to girls? Yet some guys do find their true love and do get married---"they were high school sweethearts but the odds are not always positive for the girls.

Yes they pretty much are worthless until then. Some never really get past stupid or jerk. Even after 40.
Try to not think of them as anything permanent. Look at them as friends or at least try to be friends. Being friends with them now and learning what makes them tick will certainly help you later on. Stick with hanging out with a group of friends, this way you don't get stuck with one personality.

It is true, most boys are dumb until they grow up into adulthood. Most boys in high school are trying way too hard to be cool for girls, and it comes out as being a jerk. However, don't date older guys either, they will just take advantage of you, and I really hope that teacher wasn't coming onto you, because if he is, he's a pervert. Try dating nerdy boys, they are always the sweetest, in high school and beyond.

nope, he is so right. maybe not as late as graduating college, but at the very earliest, graduate high school. guys are stupid. just go out with the ones that dont seem that stupid, and remember not to waste too much time on them...

Well in a way it iz..... but its hard to avoid them when they are everywhere.... so just do your best on making good decisions on the guys because there might be some that are pretty cool.

well, i think your english teacher is partly right....i mean guys your age are very immature but you don't want to spend your highschool years avoiding them, soooo.........here is what i would do.....i would wait till one comes to me, not desperatley try to look for one and don't settle for the immature ones (not all of them are....even though it is hard to find one that isn't). but most importantly don't waist your highschool years avoiding guys whatever happens happens.
