No, no - this is a scam. Social Security is a system that is having huge problems. Trust me, they aren't giving out refunds or bonuses or anything else like this. It is hard enough as it is to apply for social security - many have to hire lawyers just to get what rightfully belongs to them.
Besides, "paying your taxes on time" is what most people do with social security because its an automatic deduction from your paycheck through your employer.

It is a SCAM. First there is no Department of Social Security, it is called the Social Security Administration. Not sure what this "everything" that he already knew about you. But hopefully you did not give him any bank account information or your SSN.
If you did you need to notify your bank immediately. You may actually need to close out that account and open another one, but your bank's fraud department will let you know what to do. If you gave him your SSN you should also place a fraud alert on your credit report.

Oh god I hope you did not tell him your bank account number. In fact if i were you I'd contact your local police (non-emergency) let them know what he said the number that came up on your caller id any details you have and let them investigate weather or not this is legit. It sounds like a scam. If you paid all your taxes on time, you sure as heck don't get a bonus, and if your going to get money back thats going to come when you file your taxes at the end of the year. I think your looking at identity theft.

This is a SCAM! If you gave this dirtbag your bank details, call your bank IMMEDIATELY and tell then what happened. If you do not, the scammers will drain your account completely and can use this for identity theft as well. Getting your name and address is easy -- most of us are listed in the phone book!

through regulation, money deposited right into a SS recipients economic organization account are literally to not be garnished. In theory, it extremely is tremendous yet when you're depositing money from different resources into the commercial organization account then each and each and every of the money can change into straightforward interest because the commercial organization does no longer music which money are from SS or from different resources. in case you opt for to apply a bank account, then deposit purely your SS money into it. If the commercial organization does allow a garnishment you should be able to teach the money were from SS purely and were exempt from being garnished. The economic organization will be able to ought to reimburse you.

Not true - he's a scammer/thief trying to get your personal info. I sure hope you didn't give him your banking info or any other information - if you did, call your bank, tonight if they have a fraud line, or first thing tomorrow morning at the latest.
It's very easy to get names and addresses that are attached to a particular phone number, so his knowing that doesn't mean anything.

Allowing someone to do a wire transfer into your account also allows them to take it out. It is a scam.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Don't give out any information. If Social Security gave "bonuses" (they don't), you wouldn't hear about it via phone call.
