My suggestion is to place him on restriction for two weeks (which means ~ well in my house ~ nothing but chores, reading, family board game{very few}, or writing {apology letter/definition of self-control/anger from dictionary and personal words}).
The reason why I would discipline him beyond the suspension is to help him understand NOW that getting physical with another person will not help him in future. It can lead to further suspensions, expulsions, jail/prison time and even to someones death.
If your son is an active boy, I would also suggest to place him in a sport where physical techniques are taught for sport, not for resolution (i.e. football, hockey, boxing, soccer, and karate). Any coach would not allow him to push and kick a teammate because of a disagreement.
I hope your son learns how to respond rather than react to these situations. There will be plenty more people he will encounter that cut him off just driving down the street. ;)

OK now this is just me and my oppion but i am not a fan of long term punishment in stead ground him for the days that he is suspended but make is continue till he completes a full day of school at school. meaning no phone no TV no computer or other games or going out side with friends. and on top of it during the suspended days make him do a " school day" get work for him to do like he would be doing in school. what every you do just don't make it fun for him he has to know that getting suspended is not going to be tolerated

Well what you need to know is did someone push son first cuz if so then it should be about 2 days. If the other way around I would say about a week or so.

2 weeks for sure!!!! A suspension is not a detention. It's far more serious. He must be taught that some behaviors are not going to be tolerated, and being suspended, is definitely one of them.

At least the 2 days he is home + until he shows remorse and respect for others at home as well. That might help him with the anger. video tape him if need be..he might not see how angry he is acting.
