No. Not believing in a god or supreme being makes a person an atheist.
A person in no way HAS to be a member of any religious sect or cult to actually believe in a supreme being.
In fact, not even a true Christian HAS to be a member of a church or religious order to be a Christian.
But, I'm glad that I do have a home church to attend, for being a Christian is hard enough in this world. I wouldn't want to do it without the love and support of others that believe as I do!

No, Christian fundamentalists believe that mankind is at war with God because of original sin and reconciliation (salvation) only comes through the grace of Jesus Christ. An atheist is someone who does not believe in any kind of higher power and people who believe in other religions (like Islam) are misguided. Eventually every being will be exposed to the Gospel and then the individuals will make their choice. If the soul rejects the saving grace of Jesus then it chooses an eternity without Jesus.
I have a question for you. What is so distasteful about having integrity, kindness, grace and all of the other virtues that Christianity espouses and why do people vigorously defend their right to pursue a life of squalor, avarice, greed, selfishness, deception, murder, addiction, gluttony, adultery, in short all of the vices that appear to grow from a self centered life.

I am a Christian. I do not hate Muslims, Jewish people, or anyone else that doesn't believe or believes different. I never believed a person would be sent to the devil just because they aren't carbon copies of me. I'm not here to sit and point at everyone I meet, "this person's ok and you're ok, but that individual over there is going to the hot place!" It's not my decision and really none of my business. According to The Bible, God gives us free will. Prejudiced Christians should take the lesson.
Some Christians seem to forget the most important message in the whole book, which is very simply, "love one another."

No Christians think that. There are a multitude of different beliefs concerning God outside of Theism and Atheism. There is deism, pantheism, agnosticism just to name a few. I am a Christian and know that simply because you reject Christianity does not make you an atheist. Anybody that has told you that is sharing their opinion and not anything connected the Christian faith per se.
God Bless,

They think that if you're not religious, you must be an atheist. That's why they say that they used to be atheists, and they believe it.
My parents aren't religious. But they certainly ain't atheists. They just couldn't care less either way. And that's the difference.

To be an athiest in my opinion is something that one has to publicly say. If one were to say "I dont believe in God or that there is a God", that would be clear to me that they are in fact an atiest. To say that you dont believe the way I do only makes you different than me.

I don't. If people arn't christian i don't look at them as 'aethists'. I really don't even look at non-christians differently from christians. It's just a religion. I doesn't really define a person, just their beliefs.
