We i went to the doctor a week ago tomorrow, and i got tested to see if i had a bladder infection. and i do. But this is the 4th one i have had this year. And they told me to take these pills twice a day for a week and then one pill a day for a week. then i have to go back to the doctor and see if that got rid of it or not. and if i dont the i have to get surgery. The doctor said that they stuck a tube up your pee hole , so that they can open the passage. Do you know what surgery that is called??And does it hurt? please tell me what i should know about it. Please and thank you.

that isn't surgery, it's a cathetarization, and they just use several cathetars each being larger than the last to stretch your urethral opening (pee hole). Why they would do that is beyond me tho, because it would just open you wider to infection. Frequent infections are most often a result of poor urinary habits and not drinking enough water. So, do you drink at least two liters of water every single day? Do you wipe from front to back, always? Do you take showers instead of tub baths? Do you urinate at least every two hours, and immediately after sex? These are things your doctor should have asked you already, and discussed with you, if he hasnt, you need a new doctor.

I had bladder and kidney problems since i was little. I had that procedure done, sorry i don't know what it's called, but it didn't really hurt at all. I think that they use anesthesia to put you under, but they don't have to cut you open or anything and it is just a day surgery. And don't worry if you have never been put under before because it really isn't that bad, and most likely you will not even remember what happened. This procedure is really no big deal.

It sounds like you might have a UTI - Urinary Tract Infection. Read the following for more info: UTI Over The Counter Medicine Urinary tract infection can be cured over the medicine with the use of antibiotics. Urine tract infection can be cured in a better way at an early stage with the identification of the bacteria causing the infection. This can be done by urinalysis, by collecting the specimen of the urine and culturing it to detect the actual bacterial causing the infection. Some of the urinary tract infection over the counter medicines used for the treatment of urinary tract infection is amoxicillin and sulfamethoxazole. These antibiotics have to be taken orally. Few antiseptic medicines used for the infection are nitrofurantoin and ciprofloxacin. Urinary tract infection over the counter medicine is effective only in the early stage of infection. Few herbal medicines are preferred in the urinary tract infection over the medicine, because herbal medicines produce no side effects, while on the other hand taking antibiotics produces some side effects. By having antibiotics, there is all possibility of recurrence of infection, so herbal medicine is preferred over antibiotics.Cranberry and bearberry juice are quiet effective in containing the bacteria to a considerably low level. To avoid urinary tract infections drink as much water as possible in a day. Drinking Water completely drains out all those bacteria from the urinary tract. Honey, I've had bladder infections frequently over my life time, but I've never had surgery. One infection took a month to clear up. Ask for a different medication if the one you're on now doesn't clear it up. Good luck to you.

okay, this may not be the case for you, but I'm mentioning it in case it is....

I used to get bladder infections all the time, then I read that a lot of women that get recurrent bladder infections don't empty their bladder 100% when they urinate....after that, I always made sure to take my time and make sure my bladder was fully emptied each time.....I haven't had a single infection since, and it's been over a year

according to what I read, the problem isn't getting bacteria in your bladder, it's allowing it to stay in your bladder and multiply.....
