It takes a lot longer to lose all that fat you must exercise and eat normally and healthily and enjoy sins in moderation. I have lost about a stone since last Christmas when I hit two layers of rich chocolates in two days. I am a greedy pig and always for the rest of my life will eat small meals and often and eat what I like. You gradually get to know by the scales and how you feel if you are doing it right. Good luck or join a slimming club for companionship and a laugh. Don't do surgery, god knows what it will look like when you get older, if you get the fat sucked out what happens when you or if you put the weight on what happens to your skin Take my advice and unless you had a huge nose or jaw or baggy eyes don't resort to surgery. It is not the answer - you only have to look at the results on say Joan Rivers and Stallones mother. But you will feel like a million dollars when the weight SLOWLY falls off . Good luck luv Camilla....... 7lbs at least overweight and its taken me a year to lose that stone. No quick options believe me.

20 pounds will not be enough for a doctor to perform lap band surgery etc. on you. Maybe liposuction, but I'd weigh the cost and risk of any weight loss procedure against cost.
3 weeks is not much time to loose significant amounts of weight, but one reason you have not seen more change in your weight probably is that fat weighs less than muscles and you most likely have lost some fat, but especially if you're new to exercising you've been building/gaining muscle (which weighs more). The most important thing to look out for is how your clothes fit instead of focusing on the scale in the beginning. You might also be taking in more calories than you are aware of. Start writing everything (and I mean every single bite/sip you take) that goes into your mouth into a notebook with time, item, amount. By the end of a week or two you might discover some hidden calories that could be cut, like sauces, extra treats, sodas etc.
When you notice hitting a plateau in your weight after a month or so of working out, you should also change up your workout routine to jump start your body again. You really can do this on your own, without surgery. PS: I've heard good thing about the P90X workout program. You might want to give that a try.

20 pounds isn't that much weight to lose. Surgery is most likely the entirely wrong approach. Go get the book "Body for Life" and follow the workout and eating regiment just as the book explains it. I did it this year and lost 30 pounds in about 4 months (which is about the total amount I was overweight). The book is really motivational and it really works well if you stick to it.

No good doctor will do any of the WLS methods on you in order for you to lose only 20 lbs. I would not trust a surgeon who does. He's only in it for the money and not the health benefits of his patients.
20 lbs. in 3 weeks is not going to be a healthy loss.
However, if you want to be healthier and lose fat, these are the methods that are recommended by many WLS groups as well as many nutritionists.
First of all: your food choices. Are you eating protein and vegetables?
How much are you eating? You need to reduce the quantity.
And good old exercise. cardio and weights are good. Just remember that muscle weighs more than fat.
Why do you want to lose weight? Is it fat you want to lose?

Any doctor who would preform surgery on someone only 20 pounds overweight is guilty of malpractice!
Try Weight Watchers, South Beach, Jenny Craig, NutriSystems, Lean Cuisine.......
And a personal trainer.

There is gastric bypass but you may not be overweight enough for that procedure. Try to cut out all pop, candy, fatty meats and do more cardiovascular exercise and weight lifting to build as much muscle as possible. Good luck. It will take more than 3 weeks to see results so be patient.

Surgery is only for extreme cases, not for a mere 20 pounds. Besides, 3 weeks is nothing! Keep at it and be patient, weight loss done right takes time.

To lose just 20 pounds, there is no doctor that will perform drastic weight loss surgery. You have to be considered morbidly obsese and have medical problems because of this obesity.

I do not think that you should have surgery to lose 20 lbs. You need to change your eating habits. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, lean meats and drink plenty of water instead of pop and other junk foods.Exercise is very important you will start to lose weight.

There are surgical ways to lose weight but no Dr. is going to do it just for 20 lbs. it is for obese patients.
you need to try Adkins or South Beach diets and they will limit your carbs and follow the diet exactly. plus exercising will help you may hit a plateau but you just need to exercise more to get you past it
