Most police stations will do finger prints. Call the non-emergency number and ask. They can tell you when and where

Usually to work security, you will get fingerprinted by the police station for a special work card, and the police department will also do a background check

Typically in that situation, the county police can do it for you, and the background depends on your company. As a Realtor, I was fingerprinted, and background check. No big deal...unless you are hiding something.

It sounds to me like you are concerned about it. If you have concern...find another job. The fingerprints are run through the FBI database (or at least were to be a Realtor and I am guessing that security would be similar).

Some departments will fingerprint you if it's required for a job. My department did it for free (provided we had time). Check with your local department. If they can't, check with the State Police Barracks in your area. You may or may not have to pay a small charge. I really wouldn't worry about them running a background check on you. If you have anything in your past that you have been arrested for (and had been processed), it will show on your fingerprint record. Other than that, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

To teach you have to have your fingerprints take. The State Police Dept does it and in our case the school reimburses us the $20 fee.
