DirecTV. But in this situation, DISH Network all the way. Comcast is more expensive, and its customer service is the absolute WORST in the country for this industry. In fact, it has some of the worst customer service for ANY industry -- period. It's one of the three lowest-scoring companies in the entire American Customer Satisfaction Index.

My parents recently changed from Comcast to Dish Network. I think Comcast is ultimately the better choice. While the DVR has a smaller recording time (which I believe they will upgrade soon), you get more clarity and not as much pixelation. With the Dish, almost any time it rains, there's a horrible picture, and it sometimes freezes and delays. The best is when the sound doesn't line up with the images (still happened with Comcast, but not nearly as often). Dish Network is less expensive, but I believe that's because you get less. If you only have one receiver, you can watch two things in your entire house (assuming there's more than two people in the house, it could be a problem). With Comcast, you can record on only the receiver, but can watch any channel anywhere in the house.
One of the other reasons I preferred Comcast when we had it was because of it's on demand feature. You have free movies you can watch at any time (depending on your package) and that's not available with Dish. You pay for what you want (and please, correct me if I'm wrong. I may not have been looking in the right place).
I think what it comes down to is are you more price oriented or feature oriented? Go with that and good luck.

Definitely dish, if someone hits a pole near you, no cable, or if a high truck takes out a wire you watch DVD's til comcast figures it out. Unless Iran or North Korea shoots down that satellite you'll have TV or internet or phone. I have comcast now only because I have no choice, I had dish before and I liked it better

Comcast. Free movies On Demand.
If Dish Network had the NFL Sunday Ticket, that would make it better than Comcast.
DirecTV is the best.

I have Comcast, but a friend of mine has the dish. He loves it, but it does mess up at times. I've never had any problems with Comcast...knock on wood.

I have had both. I preffered the Dishnetwork for just about everything BUT customer service.
It all depends on what kind of deal you can get for yourself.
Dishnetwork with a DVR is better then Comcast with crappy on-demand.
