I am looking for a place that has good food and beautiful scenery and a show before or after. My partner is very masculine and he not that crazy about musicals. I am open to other activities/ shows.

platanos and collard greens is a very humorous play, i took my very masculine boyfriend a few weeks ago and we had a great time. Don't let the name mislead you, it's a very realistic play...with a wide ranged audience. It's also cheaper than many Broadway plays.

for dinner:
Carmine: Italian food (large servings that can be shared)
Jezebel: soul food (live jazz band; a little pricey; smaller servings)
Benihanna: Japanese hibachi (watch while they cook in front of you; mildly priced)

Dancing with the Stars has brought back a rebirth of ballroom dancing. If you are into that scene and have deep pockets there is nothing that will equal a night at the Rainbow Room atop Radio City . The dancing is continuous, the food is excellent and the music very danceable. Look on the Internet for ideas, hotels etc.

235 Fifth - it's got an amazing view of the Empire State Building and has a very unique menu. Reasonably priced, beautifully decorated. It's a little bit of a walk to Broadway but there's a ton of things to do in the area.
