My girls are 6 and 4 and I still help them clean their room(if I want it done properly), mostly its just directing them and getting them to focus on the task at hand, otherwise they just start playing with stuff they are meant to be putting away.
My 6 yr old is perfectly capable of cleaning her room herself and does a great job. But she shares a room with her sister, who can clean but has trouble keeping it clean and focusing long enough to finish the job. So I have to direct to make sure the oldest isnt doing it all and the youngest is pulling her own weight, or at least cleaning her own mess.
I really dont think they are capable until over 5 yrs. Its great to teach them about cleaning and getting them to help, but really it is the parents responsibility until they are old enough.

Well I that's just about the only thing I've done right. If they don't clean up after themselves, the kids loose privileges. From the time they were able to walk, they cleaned their own rooms, or the mess they made in the living room. with some assistance from me, mostly directing. At 3 I stopped helping. Now the toys, shoes, clothes, whatever get locked up. Take care of your stuff or loose it. Cause I aint your slave.

Three is about right. I think I was two when I helped my mom clean my room. I could be wrong though.

Depends on how messy it is, they can get overwhelmed. I think if you've monitored the mess and its obviously not a large one, even a young toddler can pick it up if you tell them to.

From the time my youthful little ones were previous sufficient to stroll and drag the toys out they have been taught to placed them again the position they were given them from. at the same time as they grew to change into about 4 then they began "making" their beds and cleansing their rooms. I didnt redo it at the same time as they made it incorrect instead helped them to study the thanks to make it proper. they have also continuously helped me load the dishwasher and so on, get their outfits contained in the abate, submit outfits and so on. component to being a relatives helps out. in case you all chip in on the paintings then there is extra time for the relaxing issues they love to do and it teaches them some responsibility. at the same time as i changed into growing to be up we had a housekeeper and that i not in any respect did something and it confirmed after I moved out on my own I swore then my youthful little ones ought to recognize the thanks to freshen up after themselves. My husband like yours thinks that because i changed into living house all day that I ought to do it till I were given ill and he had to do it and then he sponsored me up. Make it relaxing for the little ones to assist. supply each and each and every a job which includes vacuming or putting away the dishes and then see who can do their interest fastest and proper. My youthful little ones are literally 15, 11 and eight and they recognize to make their mattress contained in the morning, position their dirty dishes contained in the dishwasher, the thanks to operate the washer and dryer and so on. It hasnt damage them contained in the least.
