From personal exp ive gotten really hot and a terrible headache. Before you faint you get really dizzy, your vision is dimmed, you feel weakend. And then you just blackout(like your falling asleep really fast). You can die from this its called Suspension Trauma effect.
So overall its not a great feeling.

I have only fainted once, but here is my experience:
I was on the treadmill for not even a minute and I started feeling very lightheaded. I had to grab onto the side rail, and at this point--everything turned black.
I woke up on the floor. My family says I fainted, flew off the treadmill, and had a seizure. The neurologist says I seized because of the way I hit the floor.
Upon awakening, I felt like I was entering a dream world where everyone's voice was magnified and all of the lights were incredibly bright around me. It was very trippy. I haven't fainted since it happened and that was 7 years ago. Whenever I feel the slightest hint of being lightheaded, I sit down just in case. I don't worry about it so much anymore... but it did take me a VERY long time to get back onto a treadmill!
Hope this gave you some insight. :)

I know this was 6 years ago but I don't give a ****.
I actually have 2 versions : The normal fainting, and the pass out challenge.
Pass out challenge :
It felt weird, it didn't hurt or anything. I did it a few times, I know it's bad, it was a while ago. I first started seeing black a little bit then increasing until the image completely disappeared, you cannot feel your body, you just fall and you can't stop it xD you are totally aware tho that you're falling, you know you're going to hurt yourself once you'll hit the ground. The next thing you know is that you're lying down, probably with a headache ( happened only once ), and that's it. Weiiirddd.
The normal fainting :
From what I experienced, I was still conscious tho. I was really ill that day. It was on a monday I had to go to school, so it was around 6:40 am I got up I felt really really dizzy, I couldn't see well, I saw everything with weird colors like red, orange, which in real everything was while or a very pale color. Some times I saw black too. I was really hot, my head was hurting like hell, I wanted to wash my face, I couldn't cause I couldn't stand, I went to the toilet, I pissed ( xD ), then I got up, and that's when I got really hot, I don't know if I was pale or something I couldn't see myself, anyway, then all i saw was black, and I fell down.
that's it

Yes, lack of a meal could very well be why you nearly fainted. The last time I donated, I did faint and have to lay down. And I spent most of the next 24 hours asleep. What you can do is make sure to get plenty to drink after you donate. And don't be in a hurry to get into strenuous activity. The world can wait while your blood is being built back up. Good luck.

I actually fainted last night. I had to go downstairs to get something in the middle of the night (pointless background story) so as I was going downstairs I felt really hot, nauseous, dizzy, and my head hurt. As I sat down in the kitchen, I fell facing forward so I was basically hanging downward on my chair. When I woke up, I was still dizzy, but less then before. I didn't really gain my vision back right away. You can tell when you are going unconscious or how long you have been unconscious when you wake up. It is almost like being put asleep for surgery. Hope this helped:-)

I actually fainted today. I am a freshman in college and I do AFROTC, and the workout was really strenuous, even though I have been working out during the summer and drank lots of water and Gatorade. It felt like this: after doing tons of bear crawls, diamond pushups, crunches, lunges, and squats, I started to feel nauseous and a little slurred, but my friend saw it and pulled me out to get some water. It was dark with the bright field lights on, and I drank a little and was fine, but at the very end, we all got in formation, and I was fine for a little while we were listening to our Lt. Col., and just as she was talking about fainting and passing out, the lights started to get really bright and I felt weak and tired, and everything sounded muffled. I didn t want to interrupt, so I tried to stand up, but it got all blurry and I fell down, luckily three people dove for me and helped me over to the benches. I heard our Lt. Col. say, "Just like that." From research, I would guess it s because I didn t eat anything and am not prepared for the workout, but it s a one time thing for sure.

First time I fainted I never actually new what was happening to me but I started to feel sick (however I also used to have anxiety attacks aswell) I then got dizzy and couldn't concentrate at all, this was all during whilst I was at school so soon I decided to tell the teacher I need to go to the school nurse. However I was scared because I felt weak and my head was really heavy. I also started to lose some sense of my touch because even though I couldn't feel it, I saw myself stumbling up to the teacher and grabbing onto tables for support. My friend told me that if it wasn't for my teacher, I would've body slammed onto the floor. I only blacked out for 20 secs but it felt god damn awful, I was still a little weak after 10 minuetes.

At first you start to get dizzy, nauseous and very lightheaded. You will also have heart palpitations and feel like your eyes are getting blocked. A bit later your vision will go blurry - You will see in white ("whiteout"). You will then start to sweat, feel hot and go pale/yellow.
Thankfully, I've kept myself from fainting by immediately lying down with my legs up. I haven't gone unconscious as of yet (knocks on wood), but I've felt the symptoms of being faint.

When I've fainted I started feeling lightheaded. You get a ringing in your ears. I got really hot all of a sudden and was sweating. Then all of a sudden your vision just starts to go black. And next thing you know people are around you, telling you that you fainted. And you're like, "o crap. how embarrassing." lol. I also hear stuff when I black out. Like one time I heard a scream. And turns out it was my grandmother screaming because I was falling over. It happens really fast. Its not like you're sleeping. You might be out for a couple minutes, but it feels like seconds to you. If you ever feel like you might faint. Just make sure you having something soft to land on. One time I fainted in the mall, and fell onto a rack of earings. With prongs sticking out everywhere. Ouch.
It might be different for each person. But thats how it is for me.
