No I drank coffee when I was 13, there are NO proven negative side effects from drinking coffee. Unless there is an already underlying medical condition in which caffine should not be consumed. Or unless your drinking like 5 pots of coffee a day. One pot of coffee a morning is no problem, dont listen to the idiots who say it is.

By itself, caffeine is not particularly harmful, and may even have some health benefits. Some studies have shown caffeine may reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease, diabetes and certain forms of cancer. And studies have proven caffeine increases both mental acuity and physical performance.
But overwhelming amounts of Caffeine daily (typical 12-ounce cup of Starbucks coffee, which has approximately 260 milligrams of caffeine)- not to mention the sugar and calories - is not a good idea for teens whose bodies are still developing. It can cause anxiety, insomnia and a handful of stomach and cardiovascular problems. Also the addictive nature of the substance is not a great way to start your early teens.

Its not that bad, unless she's gotten addicted to the caffeine and now she is drinking all the time. If she has only a few a week, its ok. Decaf isnt bad at all except for added sugar.

It depends if she is used to it, because if she's been eased into drinking cofee in healthy doses, this is perfectly fine. It's when she chugs 2 mugs of cofee after a few months of going cold turkey that u should be worried. U should also make sure she isn't addicted.

It's bad to start drinking it regularly at such a young age because of a dependency risk. A 13 year old girl shouldn't have to depend on her morning cup of coffee to get to school in the morning & function properly throughout the day!

espresso certainly has some stable areas to it. while you're having espresso dont drink latte beverages to regularly by using fact those are very undesirable for you with each and all of the sugar. yet otherwise espresso is super. yet attempt to not have better than 2-3 cups an afternoon

Consuming caffeine blocks the absorption of calcium, so she may literally be stunting her growth. When I stopped drinking soda I grew 3 inches. Also, tell her how ugly it can make her teeth.

The caffeine in it is the problem. It has 4x the caffeine as in a caffeinated soda like Coke and will start the kid on a caffeine addiction in a search for a constant high.

Coffee is bad for adults. Don't even think about giving it to kids.
