I have an american NTSC PS3 in Europe, I play european PAL games all the time - no problems. All you need is a nice bulky 500W 220V->110V 50->60Hz converter.
PS3 games are region-free.

you might be able to but you will probably have some trouble with what the market or whatever calls "zones"
In order to make people buy more when they move the electronics industry implements software zones so that in order to play american games. you need an american console but you might be able to with the newer video game consoles. Good luck!

depends on the region code on the games..... the region code is located on the bottom part of the side of the box of the game right under the title of the game....

it looks like a little box that has a globe on it and a number... the region code for games in the US is 1..... if there is no little box with a number on it on the side of the box of the game.... then that game has no region coding meaning you can play it on all versions of ps3....

sure. PS3 video games are no longer area encoded yet PS2 video games and blu-ray video clips are. so which you will desire to no longer play ecu PS2 video games, or blu-ray. you in addition to mght might desire to ensure that your television will show NTSC (in case you have HDMI you need no longer concern).
