My 7 year old son got into trouble for "looking" at the teacher. Evidently he got into trouble for some stupid thing and he gave her the LOOK not mean or anything he just looked at her and she gave him a bad "Popsicle stick not the popsicle just the stick that's what she does when there in trouble" then he did it again and got another one and she took him in the hall and told him "Stop looking at me now"

somthings amiss. get a copy of the school handbook and check the rules. if you are still concerned, speak with the school counselor, principal or go directly to the school board.

As the mother of an adult daughter I will caution you to speak with the teacher first before you react. It is very possible that your 7 year old misunderstood or misreported the teacher's reaction. I myself have always wanted to believe my child's side of the story first.

I am not trying to say that your son is guilty of anything or not - just a suggestion. Although the way it has been relayed here sounds very weird to me I would make sure the teacher has the same story. I have seen many children (my own included) react with a look that is disrespectful (rolling eyes or whatever) when they have been reprimanded. You mentioned that he " got into trouble for some stupid thing" which makes me question the whole thing even more. What exactly was he in trouble for? Is it possible that he DID give her a disrespectful look?

Please do not be offended, just keep an open mind because no child is perfect even though we all want to believe ours is the exception. Peace to you.

Make an appointment to talk with the superintendent/principle of the school. If he/she wants to talk to the teacher in front of you they will tell you what needs to be done. Do not talk to the teacher on your own.

It could be that your child deliberately followed her around the room with his eyes glaring at her every move. You'd be very surprised to know what our children do behind our backs and then tell us a different story.

Keep an open mind and do not believe everything your children tell you. :o)

I would complain to the principal, because that is VERY odd. If the principal does not respond, take it to th e school board. A child should not be afraid of getting in trouble for looking at someone.

Sounds like you need to meet with the teacher and the principal. What the heck is the world coming to if you can't 'look' at the teacher?

OK your son not a saint. Tell to stop with the faces he needs to go up. I would bet that this is interrupting the class and that why its a big deal to the teacher.

Ha, I bet that teacher couldn't pass a high school equivlency exam, Only a self consious person would be so anal as to yell at a child for that

I would talk to the teacher, principal and get to the bottom of this. The teacher cannot control your child's expressions and shouldn't try. If you have to insist he moves to another class.
