or will he be out in 35 days? how can i get him out sooner? and what can he do to get a lesser fine....

Based purely on the maths it will be 350 days (or just under 1 year). Depending on your country (I will assume you are in the USofA as most folk from the US never seem to think you can be from anywhere else) there is often a system of credits/bonuses that lead to early release if you are well behaved in prison. These bonuses can be quiet generous (such as one day off for each day served if you behave). It really does depend on the country and the local laws. It probably also depends on whom the money is owed to. If you owe the Government expect a longer stay.

Of course you are at an 'advantage' of sorts as it costs heap to keep people in prison, so many Governments are keen to be tough on crime, but don't want to spend millions keeping minor crime offenders in prison.

As for what you can do? Perhaps if part of the fine is paid in cash the sentence could be reduced proportionally. I suspect that is not an option or you would have already done that.

That is quite a credit per day. I would be checking to see if that is true. Paying the fine would be the only way I can see to get out earlier.
