Im reaching out because Im having a bad day because a group of people hurt my feelings and Im having a hard time getting past it. It's like I know I have to pray for them and "this to shall pass". I feel like I just want to crawl unders my covers and cry. Do you think that is a test of my faith? Now I'm about to start rambling, I guess I'm looking for some words of encouragement, really having a bad day because of it. Thanks

Yes, Angela, it's a test of your faith. EVERYTHING is a test of faith. There are numerous things over which you have no control, the actions of others among them. The only thing over which you have control is how you react -- either with self-pity (understandable, at least for a while) or with faith.
Oddly enough, in God's way of doing things, sometimes the worst things that happen to us turn out to be the best things. My wife's cancer, for instance. God used it to change us and a whole lot of people around us. Imagine what He might do if you can deal with this in faith, if you can pray for these people and love them in spite of how they treat you. Tall order, I know, but God never seems to ask us to do easy stuff.
I know this: His grace is more than sufficient. You can do this. And I'll pray.

I agree with the first answer. Keep the faith, stay in the word, and pray about it. God wants you to have peace. Do something meaningful. Help someone else, and of course help yourself. Then, to relax yourself from tense nerves, watch a good movie, read a good book, do a 5-minute workout to get you pumped & to release those endorphins lol Take a bath .. with bubbles! Who does THOSE anymore? L0l It's usually rush, rush, rush, I know.
Focus on what's important and what you ARE happy about. You woke up today, you can talk, walk, eat, dance, hey, you can go on Yahoo!Answers :-> Jesus has overcome the world! Stay encouraged!

I think we have all been there. You are doing more than most by seeking to forgive them, so God Bless you! I recommend reading the Psalms...it may comfort you to know that the great King David and others often shared your feelings....and grew from them.

you go ahead and pray. Then when you want real help i can do that for you. I can help you where you will almost never hurt yourself again. It is not things and events that up set us but what we think about them. Your thoughts about what has happened are irrational and need to be disputed and replace with rational thoughts.

I sincerely doubt that a group of people being assholes is a test of faith. You're overdramatizing it. Get past it, and forget the idea of a "bad day". There are bad events; there are not bad days. I found a twenty dollar bill on the ground on what you could call the worst day of my life.
Have faith in yourself, not captain invisible.

Just think of the promise God has given us,
Revelation 21v4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Hope that this helps!
Romans 8:35-39 (New International Version)
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[a] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
