Altima has a poor resale value. Honda accord tops all when it comes to resale but accord is more costly to maintain compared to Camry.

The Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan beet them all in lots of categories. Safety for example, the Fusion and Milan have a unibody construction which is a body style that is supposed to keep the impact energy away from all the passengers inside the cabin, a Personal Safety System which uses an electronic crash severity sensor, a restraint control module, a driver's seat position sensor, dual-stage front airbags, front passenger sensing system, safety belt pretensioners, safety belt energy management retractors, and front outboard safety belt usage sensors. They also come with 6 standard airbags.

They both have best in class AWD, get up to 31 mpg, have a voice activated entertainment system that also controls an optional navigation system that can play DVDs, an MP3/iPod input jack, and ambient lighting for the interior which lights up the buttons, cup holders, dashboard, ect. to whatever color you want it to be.

Here are the specs, pictures, options, and comparisons of both vehicles:

Here are reliability ratings of the two:

Motor Trend just did a side by side comparison of these vehicles and liked the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu the best.

Chevrolet has a 100,000 mile drive-train warranty that the others don't have. Kind of makes you wonder why the others don't trust their drive train for 100,000 miles. Follow the link and compare.
http://www.chevrolet.com/warranty/

Roadside assistance for 5 years, 100,000 miles. The others don't offer this.

The others have nothing that compares to On Star. Can the others unlock your doors if you get locked out? Can they call they automatically call the police and rescue squad if you get in a crash? Can they disable the ignition if it is stolen?

Toyota and Honda are going off of past reputation and are no where near the quality vehicles they once were.

I'll give you a little insight that most consumers don't know about.
Most consumers read all the reviews in the magazines without really realizing how very biased those writers reviews are. How do you think a magazine makes money? (It is advertising $$$ paid by auto manufacturers)

Here is what i like to do.
I go to the SaferCars.gov ( http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/ ) & from there i can read every formal safety complaint made by consumers AFTER they have bought the vehicles that thy THOUGHT were the best.

I will give you a complete rundown on the last 2 years models of the 3 vehicles that you inquire about.
2006 Accord:(70)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=HONDA&model=ACCORD&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

2007 Accord:(36)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=HONDA&model=ACCORD&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

2006 Camry:(65)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2006&make=TOYOTA&model=CAMRY&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES
2007 Camry...(all new & improved)(318 WHOA!)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=TOYOTA&model=CAMRY&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

2006 Altima: (135)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2006&make=NISSAN&model=ALTIMA&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

2007 Altima (35)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=NISSAN&model=ALTIMA&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

Just for yuks... let's look at a Ford Fusion ?
(All brand new vehicle for)
2006: (23), (not bad for the very first year out!)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2006&make=FORD&model=FUSION&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

2007 Fusion: (18)(even better & available w/ all wheel drive)
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/complaints/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=FORD&model=FUSION&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES

Surprised?
If I were you I would read the owners safety complaints VERY carfully!
Some of those people are scared to death to drive their cars!
(especially the Camry)

2 year Summary:
Camry 383 complaints
Altima 170 complaints
Accord 106 complaints
Fusion 41 complaints

They are all top quality vehicles. I think the Accord has the highest resale value, then Camry and then Altima.

For styling I'd pick the Altima. For dependability I doubt there is much difference. So, Altima is my choice.
