It's a numbers game. Christianity outnumbers "all other religions," hands down.
As of 2002:
Protestant 52%, Roman Catholic 24%, Mormon 2%, Jewish 1%, Muslim 1%, other 10%, none 10%
SO if 1 in 10 americans is an atheist, around 85% of the theists left are Some Type of Christian, which means Christianity is the biggest "target" for an atheist.
To the extent that Christianity is on the Front Lines of the Battle to Restore God to Secular America, they deserve to be targeted, as this particular goal is Un-American.

not all atheists do, but those that do its probably because a Christian has harmed them emotionally, or even physically in some way before. also, (and this might only apply to a few), they might like arguing, and a good amount of Christians do like to argue, especially nowadays. I'm glad most of the Christians I know are actually quite accepting of atheists. i know how it feels to be judged, and its definitely not a good feeling. really, a lot of the arguments go both ways. atheists say: "Read a science book, deal with it" and a lot of christians say: "read the bible, deal with it." both have a lot of people hostile to the other.

It seems that way only because we are on an English language forum wherein the majority of religious members will be Christian. (85% in the USA).
In the Western democracies the Christian religion has the major influence of all the religions in affecting the lives of all citizens and are therefore the largest target for those who do not wish to be ruled by Christianity.
When Christians stop invading our lives, our schools and our governments, atheists will have less reason to be so vocal..

Because after all the tolerance, love and peace that christians preach, they still practice none of it. Not to mention all the wars that have been waged under gods name. But one thing is true, all religions are guilty of trying to shove their beliefs down peoples throats through violence. So I agree when you say that christianity should not be the main target.

Because it makes no sense not to criticize the majority (or the one group that tends to give atheists in America and Europe the most gried). Plus, most atheists are statistically former Christians anyway, so it's the religion we're most familiar with.

Thanks For Your Thumbs Down to facts. Out of all the religions in the World, Christianity is the only one that claims A Personal Relationship With a Personal God/Singular Deity. On which Christians look to for moral guidance.
According to the Atheist websites below, all religions are a detriment to society.
Secular Humanism, atheism, Nihilism and Nietzsche all said there is no god for man to rely on and Man can Be self reliant without a god or ancient Myth. For them religion "complicates" the world, leads to wars and makes the world insolvent. Psalm 2.

i might that they had Mosques and temples in no way greater suitable than a 5 minute walk such as you discover church homes and had Buddhists attempting to transform me and tension their schedule on governments i might have a topic. So i may be a hypocrite if i began criticising Religions i understand little approximately so ill especially with christianity with the aid of fact i realize it superb and that they are via far the main deadly and unfavorable employer that ever existed.

I can't speak for all atheists, none of us can, we aren't actually a cohesive group with rules and meetings you know.
In my case, I was raised as a Christian and so am much more familiar with the teachings of Christianity. Also, by sheer numbers there are mostly Christians who post on this board.
I have tried to educate myself about the teachings of Islam, as that is certainly the most dangerous of the present day religious delusions.
I am happy to take on delusional thinking of any sort, whether it be religious, or belief in the paranormal or any of the New Age cults. I am an equal opportunity delusion basher.

This is the only belief that brings God to man. It is also the only one that is a relatively easy and simple way of life that calls for one thing. Humility. It means we, as mankind, are not the driving force behind everything and some people can not accept that. They want to believe that at a roll of dice Poof the universe was just there with all its perfection, order and beauty. they do not want to admit that Someone actually Created it all according to a plan. The worst part is that they can be a part, which they actually are but don't realize it, and that these can also understand how much God cares for them.
I just pray for them and Thank God that His heart is big enough.
God Bless.

Because the christians are sure they're right & can't get their heads around the idea that someone else may hold a different viewpoint than theirs. I don't like someone suggesting that I deserve their pity because I don't see things their way.
