Try to set aside a specific day and time just for the two of you to do that together.

Learn to read the Bible for yourself. The Bible says to work out your own salvation, Philippians 2:12, not his. He has to work on his salvation.
The Bible isn't that hard to read. The King James Bible was written in the 1600s, that's why all those thee's and thou's are there. It's not that hard, but if you have any questions, you can email me at kellygirlaj@yahoo.com.

I would recommend getting a devotional book and reading it together. My husband and I really enjoyed Night Light by Dr. Dobson. It has quick, one-two page devotionals to read each night, followed with discussion. My husband has never been a devoted Bible reader but he looked forward to this. There is also a similar book for parents.

Get clear about what need this fills for you. My guess is intimacy, that your faith life is an integral part of the connection between you guys. If so, state the need, your feeling about this need not being met, and ask for it:
"When we don't read scripture together I sense a loss of intimacy, and feel a lttle sad about that, it's important to me. Would you be willing to read for me?"
To be sure, more intimacy means more closeness, more sex, less stress. No harm in mentioning that stuff as an aside, but his motivation still should be meeting your needs more effectively.

My first thought was, you're joking. I can't imagine why anyone would want the bible read to them.
However, if you are NOT joking, I do have an answer: Just ask him. Most guys are not able to read the minds of their women and yet want to please them. Perhaps you could schedule some quiet time for him to read to you - you will apparently enjoy this and it may help him let go of his work stress.

Pray about it. Ask over and over again. You can also buy the Bible on CD. Several choices what comes to the style of reading and translation of the Bible.

Don't pressure, this is one of the worse things to do.
Here is my answer:
Try alternation: Him one night and you the next night.
OR: Try this in alternating: A list of perhaps five different topics for him and/or you to study together. If five is too many then you'll decided the number that will work for you both.
A family that prays together and studies the word of God together stays together for life, here and eternity.

Have him read to you the poetry of Pablo Neruda. That should spice things up a bit, but then maybe the Song of Solomon can also.

If you feel you need to read the bible why don't you read it yourself. It isn't your husbands job to fuel your religious beliefs.
