i weigh 105 pounds im 5'8 and im almost 15.
isn't that a little light?
i want to find a way to gain weight that will keep it on for more than just a few days, i eat normally but it seems since the summer i haven't been eating as much and it's because i eat a little and im full.
i've heard a lot about ensure and drinks like that helping
but my mom wont let me do it unless im gaining it "naturally" and being "healthy" about it,.
got any ideas?

my doctor has said it was my metabolism but he never checked for anything.
and it's kind of a family thing on my dads side to be tall and skinny
my mom on the other hand is only 5 feet tall.
my boyfriend always jokes that i will be 6 feet tall when i get older.
i sure hope not
can doctors almost tell you about how tall you will be when you get older.?

An old guy I work with, a truly wise old Polish gentleman, says young men should latch on to the skinniest girl they can find, because they have a tendency to plump up as they age.
Don't worry. Unless you have a true eating disorder, or an illness that will eventually make itself known, you will be fine.
If you are worried about it ask your parents to make you an appt with the doctor or talk to a teacher or school counselor about it.
You sound fine to me though.
edit: Drink a slim fast before bed on top of your normal meals with three or four tablespoons of olive or canola oil stirred in it. Ensure is too expensive.
Put butter or drizzle olive oil on everything.
Eat lots of fast food meals and ice cream. Eat lots of nuts.
Nah. Stay slim. You'll be fat soon enough.

My brother is very tall and played basketball in college. They gave him a 1,000 calorie shake supplement to have daily as well as eating 5 meals a day. He was literally sick of food, but lifted weights and put on some weight. The meals were very healthy and small portioned though! If you're almost 15, and through puberty, you will see some changes in your body by the time you hit 18 - what ever you do, don't eat fatty /bad foods to gain weight - even if the weight's not on now, you'll see it later in life!!

i would say try eating some foods with a higher fat content, but still healthy, like peanut butter for example...fairly high calorie and fat content, but still healthy...things of those nature should help.
and if you're exercising a lot, try cutting back on the intensity a bit. remember at your age your body is putting all of it's resources into growth and development, so you may just have to give it a wee bit extra to get the additional weight you want. good luck!

Yes. First you should go to your doctor and have him give you some simple tests to make sure there is no medical reason why you have trouble gaining weight (Celiac Disease for example). Then, I would suggest exercising alot, which will make you hungry and help you gain weight.
