It is one thing to disagree and quite another to be just down right rude. So why all the rudeness?

Well some people are hostile because of ignorance whether willful or not. Some are hostile because of being attacked a large number of times. And some are hostile simply because they think its fun. It seems that when one is not in a room with the people they are talking to they feel like they are not talking to another human being so they feel its OK to be rude.

Religions have made a lot of enemies. They are not perfect, but some act like they are. So they become the perfect target. If they were into trying to improve, and become receptive, to the best in spiritual ideas, from all sources, they would generate less hostility.

Perhaps because religious people are often hostile to non believers and people of other religions that are not their own or contradict their own.

It is one thing to believe and quite another to legislate against people based on your beliefs, belittle people with a religious sense of superiority, and maintain the false premise that having a religious belief makes a person morally better then those who do not share in that belief.

Some people's arguments are based on the fact that their idea is right, while other arguments focus on how incorrect their opponents are. It's hard to express the latter without getting frustrated. That's why there are rude remarks towards religion (and towards non-belief.)

I think they feel it is alright because some who also feel they are religious think it is perfectly ok to put down others even in their own faith because they lean towards a more mystical Gospel than the Synoptic ones.
